Guest guest
Dear I have also come across use of young leaves as pot herb amongst the tribals. Dear Cybervaidya, I have not tested the dried powder in comparison with fresh flowers in this case, however, I have noticed a clear difference in efficacy of fresh herbage v/s dried and stored material. The older the material, the lesser the efficacy. The more it is processed the lesser the efficacy per gram of herb material i.e whole leaf is better than powder. The deterioration in the efficacy is the most in flowers and least in the roots. The order in which it generally keeps decreasing is flower, leaf, fruit, stem, seed, root. Todd Caldecott <todd Experience with Akarkara for severe toothache hi vinod it is a much under utilized herb, and interestingly enough, i have just developed a mouthwash with it as major ingredient over here we call it "toothache plant," which is descriptive of its use in almost every place its found i would like to know more about the etymology of the word "arkarkarva" - do you know? Maybe if it is used in powdered form it won't show the same result. Since you have easy access to both you could try whether powder is as effective. Cybervaidya.
