Dear Dr Sushil,

Thanks a ton ! I bcame curious on this since my friend told me that

the Siddha doc prescribed some vitamins too. Since this single is a

ingredient, the rest are possibly supportive.

Also, will the bakuchi taila work in small doses ? I am a homeopathy

enthusiast also, and many specifics have been proved in homeopathy

with some additional curative symptoms in potentised form. This will

be a prominent area since not many Indian herbs have been proved well

or not at all.

I will keep the list posted on this development. My mother has this

in small areas but of a long standing 20 yrs. Will these yield to

extremely small doses ? Interesting thing to be analysed.

Best,

Venkat

Dear Amita

Two panchgavya medicines which have been experienced to be effective

on vitiligo can be found by searching the word 'shwitra' on the

website

http://dahd.nic.in/ch5/chap5.htm

Shwitravati is for taking with water while shwitralepa is for

external application, after making a paste with little water or

preferably cow urine or its distillate termed 'Gomutra Arka'.

A patient with spots on leg is cured successfully in Mumbai. When the

spots join and become bigger by joining, vitiligo

becomes 'Kashtasadhya' and still later 'asadhya'. Further info on

these medicines will be available from Mr Sunil Mansingka on

govigyan.com, He holds the global patent for the use of cow urine in

making PanchGavya medicines.

Medicine 'shwitravati' and 'shwitralep' are very inexpensive and can

be ordered on

govigyan.com

In addition, after starting this treatment, some itching on the spots

occurs which can be reduced by application of light massage

of 'Bakuchi Tailam' availabel from Nagarjuna Pharmacy, Ahmedabad.

Bakuchi/Bavchi is the principal herb other than neem etc which goes

in making all three medicines noted above.

In case there is any difficulty in getting above medicines, contact

the author of this post.

LIv-52, Safi, etc are not found effective in little experience of

this author. ON the other hand, Gandhak Rasayan, Khadirarishtam is

helpful, if spots are not leucoderma but due to several other

conditions. Gandhak Rasayana has been recommended by Dr Vidhyasagar

long back, but I have not tried so far on leucoderma.

Copper water, copper bracelet on wrist are some of the easy but

supportive treatments.

>From your post, it is clear that your patient has vitiligo or

leucoderma only.

Regards

Dr Bhate

Dear John,

Bakuchi oil is the most effective thing that I have found for skin

discoloration, applied externally to the affected area.

Internally, the underlying imbalance must be addressed. Usually pitta is at

fault with Vitiligo and so manjishta, neem, amalaki, and formulas for the

liver and blood are best.

Best Wishes,
