Each Sai Bandhu (Devotee) must Remember words from this chapter – " We must have complete faith in our own strength or power instead of depending on others". I have taken these words as the words said by Sri Sai and I am living placing complete faith in Sri Sai. When we say that we have faith in Sri Sai, it implies that we have faith in ourselves. I will consider myself as lucky if this life continues on these lines. Sri Sai's blessings mentioned in this chapter are applicable to my life and are unforgettable. The blessing is – " Go now, you will be safe, there is no reason for being afraid or anxious". This blessing literally applies to my life. I went on work related, to my office, to Madras in 1990 in connection with my promotion. The interview for the promotion was scheduled for early morning next day. I meditated on Sri Sai previous night and slept. I woke up early that morning and did my daily devotional reading of Sri Sai Satcharitra. It was chapter 45 on that day. My mind was restless, while I was doing the daily devotional reading. Anew enthusiasm crept into me the moment I read Sri Sai's blessing in this chapter. I went for the interview with that enthusiasm and achieved success. I chanted Sri Sai's name and meditated on it while sitting in the garden for a short while before proceeding inside for the interview. At that time I noticed a white coloured Koel (bird) perched on a tree, located across the place where I was sitting, and chirping / singing it's typical sound Coo. This sight greatly astonished me, as the Koel's body was white in colour whereas the head was black in colour. I had never seen such a strange bird in my life till then. A thought occurred to me that Sri Sai has appeared in the form of white Koel for giving confidence to me. This aspect is beautifully amplified by SriHemadri Pant thus – Meditation on Guru's name, while keeping only HIS form in mind, and chanting the name will make it possible to see HIM in all animate things such as animals, insects etc. This will give us everlasting happiness". At the time when I was struggling with under-confidence, Sri Sai appeared in the form of a bird in front of me and bestowed confidence to me. Hemadri Pant says in this chapter –" There are many realized souls in this world, but our Guru is the real father. Others may impart many good discourses but we must never forget our Guru's words". One must never forget these words. We cannot reach our destination in life when we forget these words and stray from our path. Whenever you have a difference of opinion with your peers try and recall Sri Sai's words from this chapter –" Whatever, good or bad, belongs to us it stays with us. Whatever belongs to others that will remain with them". What a profound statement is this! Remember this statement and keep contemplating on it. Mere external conversion of one's religion is meaningless. Conversion of the heart, which led to spiritual enlightenment and God, is the ideal for mankind. Baba says: `Many of My Preaching have many essential points. Many of you are unable to understand the meaning of My preaching and are going on the wrong path. Retrieve them, by propagating these Teachings. There is no use of constructing temples, mandirs and starting Samajams. Great effort is not required to understand My teachings and practice them accordingly. Then the sensual impulses do not touch you. When the coconut is not fully ripe, you cannot separate the kernel from its shell. If the same is fully ripe, separation is easier. Similarly, if your mind is ignorant and lacks enough spiritual strength, you cannot detach it from sensual desires. Your spiritual power will fully mature by My Moral Teachings and keep your mind away from sensual desires. I shall present Divine knowledge to those who follow My preaching regularly.' `I am the remover of your sensual desires too, if you surrender completely to Me. Preach My moral Teachings and spread them to every nook and corner of the country either by publishing them in a book form or propagating them in person. Do not compel anybody to follow your path.' `Propagate all the above preaching to all and see that they practice the same. The more you read My Teachings and the more you contemplate on it, you will get more understanding of My method of Philosophy.' Sri Sai Baba's Teachings were conveyed by His own life and actions, Sri Sai Baba loved all creatures and the underlying motive of every act was love towards all human beings and all creatures. Baba's method of teaching is extra ordinary, invaluable and inscrutable. He shows us the way and satisfies our hearts desires, if we understand and follow His teachings. Many among us are under the impression that spiritual knowledge can be attained only if we study Spiritual books. It is not so. Every syllable that is uttered by Baba in His teachings has got the greatest philosophical meaning. We must understand the inner meaning of every word. Unless we drive away our ignorance, we cannot change our way of life. The essence of all Spiritual books is in the teaching, if we can understand them properly. If we properly understand these preaching, we will feel that we are not the body, gross or subtle and are one with Universal Soul. To be continued… ------------------ 8. Do you know Baba use to play with children and used to tell stories to them? I felt children visiting Saidarbar should be entertained with good stories. Baba told before He took His Maha Samadhi that He is Muralidhar and would like to play in Booty Wada (Samadhi Mandir) with His devotees. So I started Krishna Leelas with effect from the first issue of New Year 2004. Study well and learn good manners. Tell your parents to read the Glory of Shirdi Sai - Fortnightly E-magazine and narrate Krishna Leelas from this magazine. THE MAYA OF BRAHMA: Lord Vishnu had given the charge to create this universe to Lord Brahma, who used to watch the various acts of the Lord in his new incarnation as Krishna. He saw Krishna going on the banks of river Yamuna along with the cowboys and playing with them. They all used to sit in a circle and they all used the feed Krishna from their lunch with their own hands. This made lord Brahma full of jealousy. It was difficult for anyone even after hard penance to go near the Lord but these cowherds were so close to the Lord with no effort. Lord Brahma decided to check the power of Lord Vishnu. A little pride entered him regarding his creating powers. The cowboys sat laughing and chatting during lunch. Lord Brahma made the cattle go stray with his magical powers. After lunch when the cowherds did not find their cows they were very worried. They searched for them in all possible directions. Actually Lord Brahma had shut them inside a cave. Then Krishna offered to go and look for the cattle. When he went to look for the cows Brahmaji shut all the cowboys inside the same cave using his magical powers. When Krishna did not find the cows he returned to his friends but was surprised to see them missing. By his diving power he knew that it was all done by Brahmaji. But he did not say anything to Him. He instead decided play a trick on Brahmaji. Krishna did nothing to secure the release of the cowherds or the cattle. Instead he multiplied himself into many cowboys who had gone missing. He even multiplied himself into the calves. His impersonation and so accurate and fantastic that it was complete to the minute detail. In the evening all the cowboys and calves who were actually Krishna himself reached their parents, who could not differentiate among them. They all took them as their sons and the cows too could not differentiate among their calves. These divine forms of Krishna were perfect impersonations. When the Lord himself had made them there was no question of a difficulty or a mistake. This impersonation went on for one year. During this time the mothers got loving and caring towards their sons and cows would always lick their calves. The mothers felt a strange happiness and bliss in caring for their children. In this way Krishna enjoyed the affection of all for full one year. The mothers were even reluctant to send their sons to the grazing ground every morning. Krishna thus brought immense joy to them. One day they took the cows near the Govardhana mountain slopes where the cows were grazing. The cows rushed when they saw their calves and started licking them affectionately. When Balaram saw this asked Krishna why everyone had suddenly become so fond of their children. Krishna replied to him in detail all that had happened. A day in the life of Brahmaji is equal to one year on earth. So Brahmaji came on his swan the next day to see the condition of the calves and cowboys whom he had shut inside the cave. But he was filled with disbelief when he saw Krishna playing with the cowboys in the green pastures. The calves were also grazing nearby. Brahmaji then checked the mountain cave. He found the calves and the cowboys there lying asleep, as he had left them. Brahmaji was confused and could not understand this maya. But he realized that this is the work of the Lord. Just like the light of a candle pales into insignificance in front of Sun, the maya of Brahmaji paled into insignificance in front of Lord Vishnu's Maya. As Brahmaji realized this he could see the dark complexioned Krishna in every cow. Then he saw the Lord Himself in each of the cowboys. Brahmaji alighted from his swam and bowed before Krishna and expressed his belief in the Lord's power. Seated on his swan he then disappeared along with the divine cowboys and calves. The original calves and cowboys soon reached the same place. With this maya Krishna erased from their memory all that had happened. The original calves were grazing as usual. The cowboys did not remember that they had separated from Krishna. That evening they returned to their homes and told their parents about how Aghasura had swallowed them and how Krishna had saved them from his mouth. Actually the boys were talking about an incident, which had happened a year ago, but they thought it had happened only yesterday. Later the people of Vrindavan talked about the acts of Krishna not realizing his full powers. Another interesting thing happened. The parents who had become so fond of their children during the past year did not now find any special attraction in them. Even the cows did not lick their calves that much. But it was not their fault. Krishna's presence cannot be matched with that of ordinary mortals. …To be continued --------------------------- 10. Babu Rao Tukaram Kakade of Satara narrated his experience in June'1951 Sai Sudha as Follows: In 1946,he started for Shirdi with his wife and children to attend Guru Purnima. Rains were pouring in at and near Shirdi.He took the evening trrain at Poona and reached Kopergoan around 2.30am,he knew none. Rains were pouring. He was helpless. Suddenly an old man came to him and asked him "What are you praying for?"Kakade answered, "I wish to go to Shirdi". The old man took him and his family and engaged a tonga to go to Shirdi and suddenly disappeared when Kakade got into the carriage. Kakade then turned to thank him but could find no trace of him. When the tonga reached Godavari, there was plenty of water in the river. The tonga driver did not wish to take the risk of crossing the river with occupants in it. Some other person appeared there and asked Kakade and wife to ford the river by walking. As for the two children. The stranger carried them in his arms till the other bank was reached. The tonga stemmed the river freed from the human weight. Then Kakade turned to thank him but the stranger had left the children on the bank and disappeared."
