Guest guest Report post Posted February 22, 2006 It is the young who need guidance, for they should avoid bad precedents set by elders and pursue the path of truth, honesty and hard owrk...The Sathya Sai Education Trust runs many colleges and I select the students. I am a disciplinarian, i insist on good personal habits. Students should get up early in the morning, have bath, meditate, study, play games, do social work and retire to bed early. Baba makes sure the boys handle the hostel canteen work by rotation, so that they are trained to run homes. My students learn cooking, cleaning, marketing and even farming and dairy management. Modern youths are getting to be harsh in their talk; they are very angry, they shout and yell needlessly! Youth have slided into the path of laziness of many forms..idle gossips, wayside chatter, seeing useless films and reading bad books. They should shake themselves out of this stupor; then only will they be happy and find real values. How is it possible to give up bad qualities when you are so used to them? If you are told that you are holding a cobra in your hand, would you release it inch by inch? No, you would instantly fling it away. These habits are like a cobra in your hand. You have to decide and throw it off instantly and not gradually....for once bitten, it many be too late to save yourself.. source: Glory of Puttaparthi, V.Balu Jai Sai Ram Unnikrishnan Australia
