Namah Shivaya,

I was just wondering if anyone knows what the name of this Shiva

bhajan is and if it's on any of Amma's tapes? The only line I can

remember from it is something like "Samba sada Shiva" . I think the

Swamis might of played it at the end of Devi Bhava at the retreat in

MI this fall. If it's not the same song does any remember what that

song was and if it's on any of Amma's tapes?

I was also thinking of buying some more Amma tapes /CDs and I was

wondering what everyones favorites are. I really like World Tour

Bhajans 1996.

Thanks to the folks for posting the Amma summer tour dates, it makes

it feel that much closer! I think I might start shopping for plane

tickets to Santa Fe soon. If anyone knows of any good deals let me

know, I'll be leaving from Wisconsin.

Namah Shivaya Jon,

I know how you feel about that song. Though I do not

know which song it is, I get the same feeling when

listening to certain swami bhajans. When I try to find

out about it from the mothersbooks.org website by

doing a simple search on a keyword, it doesnt show up!

It is a good idea to ask the folks here because many

are active satsang members and might know. Some of the

songs swamis sing are "vintage" and may not be all

that popular. Though the songs are definitely

melodious and soul-stirring!

There is a small collection of bhajans on the

amritapuri website for online listening:

http://bhajans.amritapuri.org/

(somehow my real player doesnt play it)

Cant wait for the summer tour too!

Om Amriteshwarye Namah

It is on one of Amma's tapes. I know it's on one of the 1988 World

Tour tapes, but I'm not sure if it's part 1 or part 2. I will check

and let you know, as I can't tell from the song titles.

Jon,

There is another song that has the string 'Samba Sada Siva' in it.

Not sure if you are perhaps referring to that one also, so I am

giving you another Shiva song. what a feast!

The song is "Pannaga Bhushana". The first verse goes like this:

Pannaga bushana parama dayalo

Parvati jane mam pahi

Vandita sura muni sundara rupa

Indu jadadhara Samba Siva

After a few verses, the song picks up the chant "Samba Siva Sada

Samba Siva".

Jai Ma!

Dear Jon,

If i'm not mistaken, this is the 'Suvarnamala Stuti' composed by Adi Shankaracharya. It reads:

"Saamba Sadashiva Shambhu Shankara

Sharanam me' tava charana yugam"

search google using term 'suvarnamaala stuti' and u will get links to the text.

This composition has been rendered by Pandit JAsraj in his unimitable style in his album "Shiv Shambho"
