Scientists say that this eruption is bigger even from the eruption of Mount Katmai in Alaska, USA in 1912. Mount Pinatubo is in the central part of Luzon Island. It is just about 24km away from the Clark Air Base, which was forced to evacuate because of the eruption. Quote
