Dear Padmanabhan swamin,

We are really blessed to have the meanings of a complex sutram like Acharya

Hridayam in such a lucid manner. Your writing style is simply superb. We seek

the grace of our emperuman and emperumaanar to shower their grace upon you to

take up many more such kainkaryams.

Azhwar Emperumaanar jeeyar Thiruvadigale Saranam,

dhivya dhEsam - thiru mAl irunjOlai

pAsurams - "kilaroLi iLamai keduvadhan munnam" thiru voizh mozhi 2-10 and

"senjoRkavigAL " 10-7.

Attribute= dheha vyamOgham - endless desire by the Lord on the physical body

which is not permanent .

Text:" thyAjya dhEha vyamOham, maruLgaL kadiyum mayalmighu pozhililE thayaikkum"

Summary: emberumAn places endless desire in the physical body of the AzhwAr in

this dhivya dhEsam and desires to take AzhwAr alongwith that to mOksham. This is

analogous to a king placing high desire for his wife s body. Though, the

sarEram is not permanent and hence, not to be desired, out of immense affection

on AzhwAr the lord places this desire.

"vanjak kaLvan nenjum vuyirum vuL kalandhu" 10-7-1 and mAya Akkai indhanuL

pukku" 10-7-3 pAsurams indicate that emberumAn has in fact entered the sarEram

of AzhwAr and by mentioning the term mAya Akkai, AzhwAr indicates that this

sarEram is temporary and should not be desired.

The verse " thiru mAl irunjolai malaiyE, thiruppArkadalE en thalaiye, thirumAl

vaikundhamE , thaN thiruvEnkadamE enadhuyirE"

10-7-8 clearly highlighting the fact that the Lord places all his affections in

AzhwArs physique like He places in all the dhivya dhEsams.

This kind of desire is prevalent in the dhivya dhEsam which is termed as "

marulgal kadiyum " 10-7-7 and " mayal mighu pozhil sOzh"2-10 -3 referring to the

fact that this dhivya dhEsam removes the lack of knowledge and bestows

plesantness akin to a pleasant garden

The thiruvoizh mozhi nORRandhAdhip pAsuram corresponding to this thiruvoizh

mozhi aptly summarises this aspect

"senjoR paran thanadhu sErArum mEani thannil vanjithu seiginRa vAnjai thannin,

vinjudhalaik kaNdu kAl katti kai viduvithuk konda,

thin thiRAl mARan nam thiru" 97.
