Guest guest
Namaskar Mitra, Travel to Jaipur and Jatipura (near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh). 1. Jaipur - was founded in 1727 by Sawai Jai Singh II. It is the capital of Rajasthan state, was the first planned city of its time. He laid out the city with its surrounding walls and rectangular blocks, according to the principles set down in the Shilpa-Shastra, an ancient Indian treatise on architecture. It is also known as the Pink City and pink it is with beautiful places, havelis and forts. What I am not showing you is Jantar Mantar but do see it when you visit Jaipur. It is an observatory begun by Jai Singh in 1728. Jai Singh’s passion for astronomy was amazing. The Jaipur observatory is the largest of the five he built, was restored in 1901. Others are in Delhi, Kashi, Ujjain and Muttra (no longer exists). See Amber Fort the ancient capital of Jaipur state, construction began in 1592, Hawa Mahal made in 1799, Amber Fort and Jaigarh Fort built in 1726, a fort that was never captured. See cannon Jaya Vana, is the largest and heaviest cannon in the world. http://www.esamskriti.com/html/new_photo.asp?subcatid=161 2. Jatipura - near Mathura is a place where Bhagwan Sri Krishna lifted the mountain on his little finger. What sraddhalu’s (devotees) do is to do a parikrama or walk round the mountain? The devotee can take a 21 kms parkrama or the 14 kms parikrama. . You can go walking or take a tonga. Generally the devotees go walking bear foot. What you see is the place from where the parikrama starts. Devotees do pooja and offer milk before starting the parikrama. http://www.esamskriti.com/html/new_photo.asp?subcatid=160 Share the wealth, with prem sanjeev www.esamskriti.com is for Those who are Passionate about IndiaTo mail - exploreindia (AT) vsnl (DOT) net, to Un write back.esamskriti has over 225 articles, 1,000 pictures & a Music GalleryLong Live Sanatan / Kshatriya Dharam.
