Guest guest Report post Posted April 21, 2002 Hinduism preaches tolerance and teaches that there are many different paths to reach enlightment. That's why you can see many hindus who worship Jesus because god has different forms and aspects. Mahatma Gandhi, for most hindu indians, is a saint, a true devotee of lord Rama, the only Rama hindus know about, Bhagavan. So, where did the idea of a political Rama come from? Ramacandra is god himself, so he is perfect like everything that it's connected with him. He has shown to be the perfect king. Commom eyes may see him like a human politician, but devotees can see him as an encarnation of god. Gandhi was a great soul, a true devotee of Ram. A mahatma knows for shure the the difference between god and a human politician, don't you think so? Gandhi had a peacefull mind and pure thoughts. Maybe he was a dreamer because he believed that it was possible to establish the Rama-Raja nowadays, but that only proves his genuine character and goodness. He wanted a better India, with respect for the ancient religious values, so that doesn't make him a politician. Jeova's witnesses think that only the ones belonging to their religion can reach heaven. I hope that Hare Krishna's don't think the same way. Gandhiji was a good religious hindu, so he is shurelly in the land of Rama, with his beloved lord that he devoted all his life. In the moment of his death he called for his dear lord: "Hei Ram". In his mind was Rama, the same god of the Gita (Book that he read), and not a human politician or political ideas. Disrespecting a god's devotee is worse than disrespecting god himself. After all, this is a hindu group, isn't it? A few time ago, in easter time, I noticed that you protected the name of Jesus. That's the right thing to do. We shall elevate the name of god and his companions like Gandhiji. It's very sad that a Swami spends time preaching by disregarding great souls that are so rare in the Kali days. I supose that's a sign of Kali because a mahatma is suposed to only see good qualities even in the evil creatures. So how is it possible a Swami to see faults in a great soul like the mahatma Gandhi? In our times it's very important to elevate the few good examples of religious people and not diminishing them. Please be tolerant, don't consider my words as ofense because I just want peace and respect for all beeings Om Sai Ram! Om Shanti! Empregos O trabalho dos seus sonhos pode estar aqui. vmsunder 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2007 I read that Mahatma Gandhi never chanted 'Hey Ram' as per the findings that he was shot dead in point blank - these are all political coverings. Mahatma gandhi had an affair - which his own grantson confess now - but there was not a single word about it in Gandhis 'My experiment with truth' raising whether it speaks its title. I dont want to comment further. Gandhi is so famed because he adored/preferred Nehru to Patel. Patel for his great work systematically forgotten by Nehru dynasty, no wonder if they erase his name from history. "Rama Ramana lambada" thus goes Lalitha Sahasranama. The word Rama was a prevelent mantric word - so saint Vasishta gave the name to the baby of Dasaratha. Not that the name was invented then - pl note. Ramavathar is to make every one (illitrates - who hardly get a chance to read vedas and saastras) chant the mantra Ram more - but a true seeker is suppose to get the meaning straight and march in the path of realisation. Thanks & regards Vmsunder There is a lot difference in
passionate_freak 1 Report post Posted September 11, 2007 What so great in Mahatma Gandhi about Spiritualism ??? He was leading simple life with a bit of righteousness, that's all. If you are to talk about the great souls then there are many more Enlightened souls in India !!! Gandhi became so fascinating just because he is in politics. WHen many things are hidden even in 'My experiment with truth', how come you gotta judge ??????????????? No offence meant.
