Jai Srimannarayana!,

Asmad Gurubhyo Namaha:

Dear Sriman Keshav,

My understanding is when we exhale(like yawn) or give out air from our

mouth and other possible body parts(except nose - used for breathing),

it is considered as an impure act or we become impure. In order to

purify ourselves we touch our right ear where scriptures say that there

is River Ganga. Scholars in this group can please correct and clarify

me if I am wrong. Please pardon me if the information is not correct or

am misguiding anyone.

Priya Sriman Saiji & Kesavaji!

Jai Srimannarayana!

Information Sriman Sai gave is right. Whatever is

released out of the body, the body becomes impure. May

be it is from the mouth, nose or somewhare else. Then

we need to purify the body, to do the pure activities,

like pu:ja, chanting etc. Taking shower is a way to

purify the external body. There are somany ways of

performing Bath(sna:nam). Bath in the river, well,

lake, under the tap, washing the feet, doing

a:chamanam, chanting the name of God like

Pundari:kaksha, three times etc., Similarly, touching

right ear is also one of them. As he rightly mentioned

that there is Ganga flows always, in the right ear.

So, if we touch it by chanting Lord's name, it means

that we observed a sort of shower and got purified

ourselves. Then we can go ahead with our activities.

So, we need to chant God's name like Pundari:ka:ksha,

pundari:ka:ksha, pundari:ka:ksha, after we touched our

ear, but not "God bless you" like things. Of course,

some people will say these words, those who do not

have the concept of God like us. But for us, our

elders tought us all these things like this. Start

doing that by chanting the name Pundari:ka:ksha.
