Guest guest
Clear Sight Which comes first; faith or intoxication? Faith is the work of the intellect. To the extent that the intellect has faith as the self as a soul and becomes strong in recognising the Father, the body, relationships, in fact the whole world is forgotten. The soul then starts to have faith. Someone may understand, it's as if their intellect knows, but to recognise from the heart is something different. The kind of detachment God tells us we need is detachment from the heart for what is old. It is the heart that feels. The heart tells us what is truth and what is falsehood. This is why it is said; true heart, not true mind or true intellect. One who recognises the Father with an honest heart can never come into feelings of the arrogance of 'I'. Even a little ego or attachment will stop the soul from coming very close to God. It doesn't matter how much service you do, if you don't have yoga (remembrance) with God, you can't clear your account of sin. You may do service but have you done the real work on your self? You may be very intellectual but without doing the deep internal work of cleansing, your intellect will be 'dull'. Someone who is willing to do that deep internal work will think 'what is the essence of God's teachings?' and bring that into their life. God is my Lord, my teacher - what is He really teaching me? If there is regard for Him and His teachings there can be true remembrance. In fact, without him, I am an orphan. He is the Lord of the World. Until there is this real recognition, there cannot be true attainment. What is true attainment? True attainment is when the ego finishes. There will then be no fluctuation in regard, disregard, praise or defamation. Recognition from the heart of the teachings and the Teacher cannot be hidden. It will be revealed on the face. Practice making truth your lord; the light of your eyes. You then don't need to prove anything, you won't need to be stubborn. Let us first save ourselves from this kind of nature. Until we make effort from the heart for these kind of things then we actually haven't done the real work. Unless you make effort from your heart for these things something else will definitely enter your heart. Who can have comfort in the heart? Those who make effort from the heart and remember God from the heart. Such a soul can never then feel worried or frightened because it is doing everything with a true heart. In fact, all I need to do is to make the Lord happy. God becomes my protector when I follow his teachings. When the heart is true there is an understanding of what my Lord is like. In the olden days we used to to say 'sahib' 'my lord', even for the boss. God is the satguru, He is God, my Father and my Sahib. The feelings received from each one are different. The Father says; don't do this, do that. He doesn't order us but He gives us His advice. He makes you belong to Him and he doesn't want even a speck of dust to touch you, His child. Even a speck of dust can cause a lot of disturbance if it goes in your eye. A speck can stop you seeing clearly. You can't see the self, can't see God, can't see anything clearly. God gives us the third eye so that we won't stumble. In bhakti they sing 'God, I am the one who doesn't have sight, save me'. God gives us clear sight to stop us from stumbling. Drishti is for seeing the self and seeing God. Make sure you see these two before seeing anything or anyone else. Your drishti will then become gentle, full of self respect and respect for others. What do people outside think and see? They see only through the physical eyes and think only through the intellect. This is why God tells us not to see the rest of the world. God did an operation on both our eyes and gave us the third eye. He has taught us everything and shown us everything. The eyes are very sensitive and so is the heart. Something happens and the heart gets hurt. If you give your heart to God but you keep taking sorrow, what can God do? We have to take care of the self. Let your remembrance of God be your protection. God tells us not to order others but to let there be rulership over the self. Be the destroyer of all negativity for the self. Exercise that form of kali only over the self. There will then be success. There is a song; there is a battle of the storm and the lamp. The awareness of the soul should always remain lit. The awareness of the companionship with God should always remain lit. Unless the soul is connected to the Powerhouse it cannot remain lit. There cannot be light. One who is sensible is one who practically does what God is teaching. He will not say anything in words but thinks; God, I want to be as You are. He doesn't want there to be any difference in what God does and what he does. In fact, if I don't follow what God says then neither am I happy nor is God happy with me. Then I am not able to be with the Comforter of Hearts. So we can either climb very high and taste the things of the Golden age or we can fall. Now check; what do I have to see? What do I have to think? In this way learn to be your own friend. Think that someone else is your enemy and actually you become your own enemy. God is my best friend and I also have to become my own best friend. He tells you to look after your intellect. If you take care of it by not letting it go into waste, God will be able to use your intellect. Every second is so valuable so let me think what I have to do and use everything in a worthwhile way.
