I insist that a section of guru pravachan be placed in the website. The mantras in the official website are in .wav format and just to hear for some seconds huge kilobytes have to be downloaded. Sadhguru's amrit vachan are not meant for only sadhaks and shishyas..there are soo...that i felt that it should reach every spiritually inclined person. so some months ago i tried to convert pravachans and stotras to mp3 format. These mp3 format are lesser in size and take less time to download than the huge .wav files. Not caring for the copyright act i had converted some stotras and pravachans to mp3 and gave it to my friends. Unfortunately due to sudden damage of the computer all my hard work was finished. But i am glad to tell that 30 mins of guru pravachan( side A of "AAb to Jaag") was converted in mp3 format in just over 6.40 mb in pieces of 4/5. So u can convert it in parts. for easy downloads. a single download of 889 kbs would mean 4/5 mins of speech which is better than (1 min=approx 1mb) of standard .wav files. I suggest you use mp3 encoding of audio to keep in the website. Also i had converted mantras and stotras like "shiva tandav stotra" , "mrityormamritam gamaya" for approx 800-900 kb. It is unwise to save mantras like that as it related to "shuddh dwoni" but general people can have a taste of those divine mantras and stotras. but for the pravachans, they just have to be clear and audible to grasp the meaning. It is not allowed. Written pravachans would be a better idea. As you already know, this is a collaborative effort and without everybody's support, this would be nothing but disaster. Guest guest Report post Posted April 5, 2001 Jai Gurudev, amit really nice to hear from u as u told that u have exams and so that u will be busy for 1-2 months good, how are u doing with ur exams? amit what ashish told is true to certain extent that it may not be appropriate to put all mp3 files for free distribution i 100% agree with what u think that Bade Gurudev's pravachan is useful for any spiritually inclined person but u have to keep in mind the following issues 1)if we distribute the pravachan in mp3 format for free then, no one would really buy the cassttes , becos the money raised from the cassette sale ,if it goes to some charity organiztion we will be harming the process but instead some one has to appraoch Gurudham with the list of things that can be put for free mp3 download so i think Gurudham will agree for atleast few complete cassttes downloads and many partial downloads(like 15 min of 1 hr cassettes) for example we can also recommend the stotras to be put for downlaod "siva tandava stotra if not the entire stotra cassettes" 2) if we put for complete downloads fake Gurus who have access to computer will try to copy the content and will be decieving people u remember that 96 Guru poornima shivir Gurudev told that some 100s of fake magazines started appearing copying the content of Mantra tantra yantra vigyan magazine and 1600 Gurus were there, telling that they were disciples of Bade Gurudev and started giving false dikshaas to people but if they really want the content they can jsut get by paying few hundreds of rupees to Gurudham and ordering them, but by not keeping complete set for downloads we are only trying to minimize such occurences and not completely eradicate and if u really want to give the content to people whom u personally feel as genuine and sincere u can always do that, becos they get influenced by Gurudev and buy more cassettes and diksahas and they will have their spiritual life started but if they are not interested it will stop with the lended cassettes (for example i came to know Gurudev from my friends by first listening to cassettes and reading books that they lended to me after which i got influenced and met him and i hope many of u would have met him the similar way that is want books and cassttes intend to do,Gurudev hemself told that one of the purpose of writing books is to get back the disciples who are lost) as we cant decide the peoples genuinty on the web we have to contact Gurudham for as to what are to be placed on internet ,o as to not harm the real purpose of knowledge spread to exploitation of people by fake gurus taking the freely available content so we have to do knowldege charity but we should not give it to people who are not sincere and genuine thus saving lot of people from being exploited than served regarding the mp3 format my 100% to u, we have to come out with plan and technology as to how to put things in mp3 format and .wav is really stupid thing , think of it i want ur active participation in this area so once u are done with ur exams and whenever ur free come with plan we will forward it to Gurudham ashish how is ur thing going? Thanks for entrusting me with an assignment on Current Shivirs and Standard Operating Procedures for hosting shivirs. Thanks for the view on Pseudogurus, I agree we should ignore all these people with no connection with Guru Dham, I must have been worked up by the fact that Kathmandu has become a sort of base for the old and past disciples of Param Pujya Prabhu who have instantly;y converted themselves and became Gurus or Thekedars for Guru Dham after some years of practicing Gurudev's teachings. I came across with some Gurusewak's who got the golden opportunity to serve Guru Dham for sevral years. I would think they were the luckiest of all shishyas until I cam across one or two so called sishyas who have been diverted by petty personal interest and ego set up Ashram in the name of Param Pujya Guru Dev started to make a living out of that. My intention on my request was to warn new Guru Bhai/Bhahans coming into contact who could easily be mislead by these people. But do not disagree with you. We should only list the genuine Organisations which are authentic. On the issue of audio video posting... Please note that we have produced 4 well edited video recordings of Shivir proceedings. WE did send one complete set to Guru Dham and got it submitted to Param Pujya Guru Dev. We also sent couple to some Gurubhais outside Kathmandu... One response we got is note worthy.... He suggested that we should omit some part of proceedings of Sadharan Dikshya given by Pujya Guru Dev in the shivir as this could easily be misused by one of the quack Shishyas to start making money by starting to give Dikshya through Video recording.
