I think that www.siddhashram.org is a better platform for putting

details of all old magazines/books/audio/video etc.. I am sure that

work in this direction is already being done in Jodhpur Gurudham.

Slowly and steadily, they are uploading most of the things on the

official website.

I am not very confortable with the putting of books into pdf format.

Because, most of Gurudev's books were published by publishers like

Dehati Pushtak Bhandar, Pushtak Mahal etc., and there will be

copyright issues involved.

So, I will rather advice against putting the entire book online.

However, having said, putting in some excerpt of the book/magazine

like 1-2 chapters etc. will be a better thing. This will give an idea

to a new person about the content of the book, and will prompt and

encourage him to buy a new book.

A good Guru Sewa might be to actually type in or scan some chapters

of each book and mail that to mtyv

 

Let us not forget that a major part of money from book/cassettes

selling goes towards charitable activities. Let us not suffocate the

charity bit in this process.

A person who pays money to buy book or for Diksha etc. actually does

a "Dhan Daan" , and wipes out part of his karma.

I don't like giving away things free. A person getting a free handout

never, never appreciates the importance of it. Charge him a token

amount to "make " it worthful.

 

Secondly, we have to be very, very careful to ensure that both sites

do not compete with each other. The synergy of both should complement

, and be mutually rewarding to each. That means, that the new site

sud not go into official issues like publication of magazine old

issues, books etc. That is remit of www.siddhashram.org , and it is

already doing it. It is in process of putting in audio,video etc.

Let us not duplicate what already is being done. However, the new

site can have some comments on books etc. by various Sadhaks. We can

also have some English translation of Gurudev's old books. How many

people know that Gurudev actually wrote more than 600 books. There

are hundreds of books on astrology, ayurveda etc. Most of those books

(¬80%) are actually out of print, and very few people have got

copies. Let us get details of those books and put that on the net.

Let people contribute about their experiences in shivir etc. Any new

person joining in is interested in knowing what a shivir (sadhana

camp) is like, how is it conducted? someone can write details on this

based on his own expereinces. Yes, I know that stuff like this might

be more difficult than just typing/scanning of existing mags&books,

but then as Gurudev said - "Sewa Dharam Ati Kathora" (Service to Guru

is very, very difficult)

 

Let us take tough tasks. Problems might come. Let us challenge these

problems and overcome them.

Let us not go into anything official. We do not have a mandate or

permission for that. It is basically, a "forum" for Sadhaks to help

the Sadhaks by virtue of their own experiences and knowledge. Let us

keep it this way and not dilute the effect (or effort).

 

About new name etc.

Why not use www.siddhashram.net I think that it is a good idea as

this forum is basically a network of Sadhaks of Siddhashram.

This domain is in name of Gurudham . We can ask Gurudev for

permission to use this domain name. This will also create less

confusion, as www.siddhashram.net will be a logical extension of

www.siddhashram.org

 

As this site is basically an addition of the main site, so I don't

see any need for having multiple names. This , again might confuse

the new comers. If at all, you are keen to take a new name, then

probably, the best way forward is to propose a list of names to Pujya

Trimurti Gurudevji and get a name chosen/allocated by Them. This

will also mean getting a Divine Aashirwaad and blessings for the task.

Moroever, I will also strongly recommend making Delhi or Jodhpur

Gurudham as the main domain owner instead of any single individual.

You can take it in name of any of the three Gurudevs. I am willing to

spend the money for taking the domain name in Gurudev's name , as it

is Guru Sewa.

Dear Arvind,

 

We are not going for any paid service right now, so we can't have

names like www.siddhashram.net. The naming patter of Brinkster (which

we would be using if we have no better alternative) is like

www14.brinkster.com/WHATEVER_WE_LIKE_IF_AVAILABLE.

 

We are building a forum, an extension for siddhashram.org. Let's not

make things more complicated. Let's get started using a free service

and make it grow. If anything is worthy to be included in

siddhashram.org, Guruji will have it included. We are implementing

just a filter, not a fulfledged website.

 

As you have suggested, we must make sure that these two sites do not

compete and anything like siddhashram.net would be a sure competition.

 

Now, I need your help.

 

1. Suggest a short, easy to remember, worthy, relevant name which

fits in the above mentioned name.

 

2. There are many suggetions regarding the sections in the new site.

I am confused. Please, consult everyone and give me the final verdict.

 

Without these two informations, I can't proceed. Please, concentrate

on these two.

Sorry my mistake. Did a knee jerk reaction instead of reading the new

mails! Sorry. My apologies! U are correct. We wont go into a new

domain name, and will proceed with brinkster.

 

People have been highly enthusiastic about this., and responses keep

pouring in. And the americas is just getting into mid-day (depending

on time zone) & oz (aussies) are sleeping! So,, let's wait for 2

whole days. I propose to people to give in ideas in following format

.. We will wait until Thursday 5 April 2001 23:30 hours GMT., and then

I will consolidate the entire list & add all the received_responses

to this list. The list will be updated and published tomorrow.

 

Anuragji, have u got the numerology book (Ank Pradipika or any other

numerology bookauthored by Gurudev). Can u please check for the

numerology result of these names , and certify the most_correct

names. Any other volunteers to check the name numerologically? I,
