Guest guest Report post Posted November 20, 2000 Dear Gurubhai Raman Joshi, I do agree with Sharmaji. Discipline should come first. The word Sadhana means to conquer, to overcome. In other words it also means to acheive Siddhi. Sadhana means Shareerum Saadhayati Vaa Paatayati. Means I would acheive or shall perish. Now, here a person has to fight against all his low tendencies & low values. The mind is full of oceans of thoughts & emotions. The lesser the thoughts & emotions, the more is the control and concentration, the more is happiness. Now the Sadhanas are meant to reduce this flow of thoughts & emotions, making the remaining thoughts & emotions pure, powerful & dynamic. How to achieve this? By doing Sadhanas. If I am unable to do Sadhana what I should do? Just bow down & lie down flat under the lotus feet of Guru. Guru Darshan is also a Sadhana. Surrender unto Him. Because all your previous Karmas could be burnt by either Shiva (Shiva here means Destroyer) or Guru. Because when you go for Guru Darshan, Guru will pour Amrit in you. But because there is lot of dirt & poison in you, instead of Amrit coming out, only dirt or poison comes out. But then to a disciple has to go unto Guru again and again to he becomes Amrit. This might take many days, many months, many years or many births. But a disciple has to thrive unto his Goal. Suggestions : 1) Practise Pranayams mentioned in the Book of Hypnotism for more time. 2) Do Nyasa Dhyan as mentioned in Practical Hypnotism. 3) Now you could practise Traatak. (When you start doing Traatak - Praanayam & Nyasa Dhyana becomes a must. 4) For this you also need a Diksha in Hypnotism or Sammohan and also in Kriya Yog. Remember, you need to do Practice every day. Typewriting, Driving, Horse-riding, etc. needs practise for the perfection. Start today slowly slowly you would find happiness. Concentrate more on the practise & not on the result. In game of Cricket, a batsman while batting should see the ball only and not anything else. He should concentrate only on playing that particular ball and should ward off all the other thoughts. Then only he could hit the ball otherwise not. Then by practise he becomes perfect batsman. Every human has full potentiality to achieve totallity. Only those people could achieve who want to achieve and thrives for it. Success is yours. Jai Gurudev, Your Gurubhai, Pradip Merchant. Shivaduta 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2008 Well the first thing that the mind needs is a goal... so whatever you do... be clear what u seek or hope to find... (abstract goals are the most difficult to pursue cause the human mind many times does not comprehend the goal... if you are pursuing a abstract goal it may take years before your mind begins understanding and accepting the goal at a subconscious level) next the mind needs a powerful motive... if your motive goes against your inner principles your mind will refuse to support you... (example: if you are aiming at building a house on a beach.. and somewhere there is a fear of the ocean and tidal waves ingrained in your mind... the mind will try and stop u from building your house...) so have a motive why you seek your goal... a strong motive which is in keeping with your inner principles helps... (the stronger the motive the more power the mind alotts to seeking the goal... example mahatma gandhi and nelson mandela wanted to free their nation their people) have a vehicle like a mantra or tratak to aid your search rest should flow smoothly... Ravindran Kesavan 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2008 Dear Raagi When you sleep during nyasa or any other meditative practice it means that means you are deeply relaxed and you body needs that sleep. Meditative practices are deeply relaxing in nature.Dont worry Sleep well when your body needs it. Continue your practice dailly. Over a period of time you will get used to the deep relaxation and you will remain allert during the whole process. Try the practice when your body is rested well and is fress - like in the morning after a good quota of night's sleep. If you do the practice when your body is tird and needs sleep then you will invariably fall asleep. K.Ravindran
