Guest guest Report post Posted May 6, 1995 It is common to interpret bees as aachaaryaas. ANdaaL's poRivaNDU, thirumangai's vari vaNdu and maNi vaNdu, and paaNar's mathuramaa vaNdu and anciRiya vaNdu are some examples. Periyaazhvaar says, \bt "irunciRai vaNdu emperumaan guNampaadi malligai veNsangoothum mathiLarangam enbathuvE." 4.5.8 \et Is it not our aachaaryaas who sing in praise of emperumaan's thirukkalyaaNa guNangaL. ThoNdaradippodi's vaNdinam also refers to our aachaaryaas. Now, to dogs; thoNdaradippodi's intense devotion to sri vaishNavam does manifest in strong sentiments against samaNar, saakkiyar, and buththars. But taken as a whole thiru maalai is progressive even with present day standards, and I think Badri will agree :-). Read thiru mazhisai's thiruchchandha viruththam for a new outlook about dogs. -- Dileepan
