Guest guest
Dear Members Does the above Stotram require any inititation to learn and chant? I also remember a comment in the group that chanting of the above Stotram gives the benefit of the entire Chandi. Would someone please help me. Guest guest
Respected Members, I have seen 2 different versions of Mahishasura Mardini Stotram. One version containing 20 stanzas and other one with 18 stanzas. Further, the order of stanzas and actual script is also different between the 2 versions. Can someone clarify ... 1. How there came to be 2 different versions ?? and 2. Who is the author of this powerful Stotram and how this came came to be revealed ?? Bala Sharanam, Lalitha. How there came to be 2 different versions ? There are different versions for almost all stotras. Happens because of the error involved in transmission, I guess. Some people simply relish interpolating(which is sad) and adding things which is why extra shlokas are found Ex: Stories of tantrics trying to hurt Shankaracharya through physical means or Abichara and what not ..etc etc.. >2. Who is the author of this powerful Stotram and how this >came to be revealed ? People believe it is authored by Shankaracharya.
