Vaaraahi temples

Some information of Varahi temples. ( only those in which Vaaraahi is a

prathyeeka Sannidhi). I understand that Vaaraahi is otherwise available

where they have the figurines of the Panchakannikas

 

1. Tanjore – we have already discussed this

2. Kanchipuram – dicussed earlier

3. Kasi – Called Pathala Vaaraahi. The shrine is below the surface. The

priest opens a ‘door on the ground’ and that is the only way one can have

the darshan of this Vaaraahi

4. Orissa – Somewhere near Gauhati

5. Nepal – in some distant village

6. Padapai road near chennai. This temple is in the 20’th km from Mudhichoor

road turning off Tambaram( on the Padappai-Orgadamkootroad road ) Sri

Durgai Sidhar has a private temple there. This has the separate shrine of

Shyamala Varahi . The other four Varahis ( Rishabaarooda, Garudaarooda,

Aswaarooda and the fourth one , I am not sure) are in the walls of this

shrine. The Goddess is almost 5 ½ feet tall. A very calming experience

before this Vaaraahi.
