Guest guest Report post Posted April 3, 2000 It seems one of the raps against Larry was a claim that made it appear he had studied continuously with the Guru for an extended period of time. I know Larry studied(I was there)with Sri KP is Santa Cruz in a 1987 session that was mixed with the Guru travelling to SFO, Santa Barbara and North San Diego County. Another session Larry attended, was at Kealakekua, Hawaii in the fall of 1986. (See "Advanced A" video that is floating in the undeground market). Anyway, the video shoot and daily practice was in the garage of the house Larry was renting. I was a part of this crew too, so I know something about Larry's relationship with the Guru. Some of the things I would be curious about if I was one contemplating yoga study with Larry would be: Where is this guy as a man, yogi and teacher? What did he learn in his studies and does he put it into practice in his life and as a teacher? <br><br>If you are looking for pure astanga yoga, is that what he teaches? If not, does he have a disclaimer that what he is teaching is not the real thing? Our yoga has plenty of its ranks of "teachers" filled with those who are at best, barely qualified. Laughter, big prana and mula bandha have been pushed aside to accomodate egos.<br><br>It wouldn't be appropriate for me to comment on Larry's practice in this forum although I've seen his work up close and have had conversations with Guruji about him, but the question on who he is, is for you to decide. Look him in the eye and observe what you see, then close your eyes and listen to his (or any teachers) words with your heart. Do they ring true and promise to take you down that long wonderful path of yoga? If so, dive in, you will not be disappointed. Guest guest Report post Posted April 3, 2000 Larry Shultz did meet Jois when Jois visited the states some years ago.<br><br>Larry Shultz did study with Jois during this brief time (a few months at most).<br><br>Larry Shultz has claimed he studied *8 years* with Jois. <br><br>This is not true.<br><br>Larry Shultz has never been to Mysore to study with Jois.
