Guest guest Report post Posted December 6, 1999 Hello friends all over!
X-mas is coming. Is there someone in our net who speaks german and want to mail with me, M/38. I practice ashtanga for nearly two years. My wife one year, but she has a neck pain for two months that don't go away, althoug she is doing every day the standing postures. May be the chatarunga-pose ist not good for a beginners neck? Now we are discussing about the problem if iyengar may be better for beginners (the book from Gita Iengar, the daughter of Mr. Iengar). Any suggestions?
Why not practicing one day ashtanga and the other iyengar? To compinbe these both - and one get a new yoga stile like "Super-doble-power-Yoga"?
All the best, Lubosch (Germany)
fibu2001
Guest guest Report post Posted December 12, 1999 It may be an idea to check out a book called Dynamic Yoga by Godfrey Devereux. It has an adaptation of the sun salutation called sukhasuryanamaskar that keeps the neck in a more neutral position. This might help.
