I have found my love for Ashtanga grows every

day. I've been doing hourly sessions for 5 months now

and have found that it has really helped me. I swear

by it...I promote it.

My back has improved.

My mind is focused and at peace...my flexibility has

gone beyond what I thought I could do.

I also

enjoy running...but have a genetic problem with my

knees. Ligaments rubbing against my knees. The yoga

helps a lot...but is there some particular movements

that can really improve more? Does anyone have similar

problems that can help me. 38/M

Also, I weight

lift...does anyone recommend WHEN to lift weights....BEFORE

or AFTER Yoga?????

I've been a runner for over 25 years--covered a

lot of miles including 140-mile weeks. Just in the

past few years, I started having major lower-back

problems. Began doing Bikram-style yoga and now getting

interested in Astanga.

The back is feeling much

better after 3 months of Bikram. It's great. Only thing

is, I don't feel much like running after a yoga

session! It's a great workout. I know that Ashtanga style

provides a workout effort similar to running with the

constant motion.

I'd be interested to hear more

from runners who practice

yoga.

Thanks,

Marappu
