Guest guest Report post Posted January 18, 1999 Hi all- Question- can someone explain exactly why it's best to rest on the new moon days. I know I felt awfully unsteady the day before this recent one, but wasn't sure if it was an effect of that or not.

Also, Many thanks for the site and for putting up the Moon Day chart.

Best

yogageek
Guest guest Report post Posted January 2, 2005 Hi yoga geek, I don't know anything for 100%, but the best explanation I've heard is that the body is primarily composed of water... which of course is affected by the moons. The full moon means that rising energy is peaking so the practitioner may push themselves too hard, and cause injury. The new moon is the reverse, 'peaking' falling energies means that your body is at it's least physical and so your regular routine may be too strenuous, and cause injury. Maybe modified routines could be practiced on these days?
