Spiritual practice, according to patanjali, is

not about manufacturing, creating anything new it is

about dissolving the veils that obscure the light (yoga

sutras II 52) so that the vision of discernment can

dissolve the bonds of karma and bring about the

manifestation of kaivalya (yoga sutras IV 29-34). The veils

being the matrix of ‘knowledge’ with which the sense of

self and other is butressed as a result of unresolved

experiences leaving their trace (karmic bonds). The

techniques of any kind of yoga (inclduing washingupyoga) can

be used to solidify or clarify, excite of pacify,

stimulate or stabilise the mind. Depends how they are

approached, attitude and intent. There is no doubt that if

practiced openly and attentively, without agression or fear

ashtangavinyasayoga in any variety or derivation, whether ancient or

modern, thoroughbred or hybrid, can bring about the

stability, clarity, tranquility of mind that this process

requires. Once, that is, the body is brought to rest in

joyful steadiness (yoga sutras II46) free from tension

and manifesting the infinite (yoga sutras II47),

wherein the duality of the breath can be transcended by

accurate observation (yoga sutras II50-51) thereby

uncovering the light(see above). The practice speaks for

itself, to anyone with the patience to listen. Thanks be

development and transmission.
