I am finding the recent in-fighting and sectarian disagreements here to be

very disturbing.

Thank you,

sadhvi

Can you explain please? Intellecual view points explained forcefully is not

infighting or sectarian disagreements.

Can you please refer to specific mails?

Thank You

Greetings,

Then it should be "vagishvarim ritusnatam" ;)

I request U not to divert my words. I said i THINK he did it deliberately but

never said that

is a FACT. There are only two options in this case: either he doesn't know

sanskrit or he

intentfully mistranslated some words. I though it is more respectful to swami to

assume

he has proper knowledge and understanding but for this or that reason decided

not to tell

truth. Of course, there is also a chance that he borrowed somebody's translation

and

signed with his own name - which i hope is not the case.

In my view the biggest respect i can show is to say that mistranslation is

intentional

(personally i really think it is that). And i cannot say "everything is OK like

that" - no, it is

not. Truth cannot be altered just in order to show respects...

please post the

> specific translatations you are objecting to.

I do not have a book presently with me (only original sahasranama in sanskrit).

But if

needed i can get it in some 10 days.

However i can point to exact places - if U have got that book. And if U can

understand

basic sanskrit, otherwise it becomes useless.

Knowing this swami, I

U have no reason to say i am "speculating" unless U can prove swami's

translation is

accurate. Which U cannot do.

Some correction required for the sloka u hv quoted. It should be

Om vagishvarim rtu-snatam nilendivaralocanam

Vagishvarena samyuktam (krrabhava -- what is this word? no such word in

Sanskrit -- is it krurabhava?) samanvitam ... the sloka is not complete.

IMHO "taking" Bagalamukhi mantra from an unknown source and

reapeating it is comparable to picking up a loaded gun without a

safety lock. These mantras are very powerful; I would suggest finding

someone to work with before using them.

To the person who is accusing the translator of "Kali Puja" of

WILLFULLY distorting the meaning of the names of Kali..please post the

specific translatations you are objecting to. Knowing this swami, I

would find it very difficult to believe this is an intentional effort

on his part to mislead people. Why not put the names in question into

the group and see what the many scholars and sanskrit experts here

come up with, rather than slandering someone who has done so much to

help others. There are some people here I can see have the background

to investigate the accuracy of the translation in question. Please do

not continue to speculate about someone's character when it would be

so much more helpful to avail ourselves of the resident experts in

Sanskrit.

Thank you,
