Guest guest Posted January 24, 2005 Report Share Posted January 24, 2005 Actually, it was elucidated in the intro to the Lalitasahasranama; the Samaya Path is referred to as "pure and noble". I have never heard of any Samaya sexual practices, but please feel free to correct me on that one. It is a matter of the temperament of the particular student and the particular path of the guru that would determine one's suitability for extreme Kaula practices, I would imagine. And see my previous letter; I said that proper use of the practices DECREASES the need for physical sex, thus it is not surprising that "highest Kaulas" would not need the "actual" 5 Ms. The point of these rites is less about the actual practices themselves and more about the intense mental states they engender, which helps one rise on the Path, provided one's devotion is strong and can keep the energies under control. Once one has attained, the vehicle can be abandoned.
