Thanks for referring this book.

On a slightly different topic, here is a Kali Mantra from the book

"Shakti Mantra" by Thomas Ashley-Farrand

"Om Hrim Shreem Klim Adya Kalika Param Eshwari Swaha

[Om Hreem Shreem Kleem Ahd-yah Kah-lee-ka Pah-rahm Egsh-wah-ree

Swah-hah].

"Om and salutations to She who is the first one, dark within her own

reality, the supreme primordial feminine, who cuts through illusion to the

unabridged truth of existence."

p. 139

Cathie

There is a book available: "Kali Puja" I haven;t got

it handy here, but I will get you the author's name.

It contains the 1000 names. Also "Bhaktimala" has the

Shiva & Kali Sahasranamastotram sung by Anuradha

Paudwal.

it should be "aadya kaalike" not "aadya kalika". These mistakes count in

results.

By the way, I have just ordered a CD of Kali Sahasranama sung by Sri

Maa of Kaamaakhyaa. I hope it comes with the transliteration! It's

available on her web site. http://www.shreemaa.org/

And, I'm really looking forward to hearing her sing the songs of

Ramprasad, which I've never heard, only read in translation.

Max,

The CDs I've bought from Devi Mandir didn't come with liner notes,

lyrics, or transliterations. (This doesn't dampen my enthusiasm for

the CDs; it's just how these CDs are packaged.) If I were you, I'd

email Devi Mandir and ask if the CD comes with a transliteration. If

it doesn't, you can most likely order a copy of the book and arrange

to have the book and CD shipped together to save on postage.

I asked them but they didn't answer that particular question. Do you

happen to know if their book on Kali Puja contains the 1000 Names?

So far, I haven't found it transliterated anywhere... I notice that

they do have Sahasranamas included for Annapurnaa, Gayatri and

Lakshmi.

Besides do u read the thread u are supposed to be interested in? ;)

I wrote several times in this topic of "1000 names" that YES the book

of [american] Satyananda Saraswati "Kali Puja" contain sanskrit text

of Shmashanakali-sahasranama. Although translation is really awful -

keep that in mind.

Max,

I don't have this particular book (or the Kali CD), but the

description at Amazon indicates that the book contains the

transliteration:

"The complete worship of the Divine Mother who Takes away Darkness,

includes Her advanced puja, Her thousand names, the mantras and

mudras for traditional offerings, as well as the systems of worship

for begetting spiritual children. Also available to accompany the

text is a beautiful CD or cassette of Shree Maa's recitation of the

Namaste,

you know nothing about me. how can you say that? when you know not who i am.

There is no right or wrong way to worship and everyone has different reasons for

worship. there are know right or wrong reasons for worship. I may infact have

material desires and attatchments in this world and they may stem from the way I

was brought up, or from my own ignorance. Perhaps I am worshipping Kali for her

blessings to help me overcome those desires and to shatter the illusions that

surround me, and maybe i feel that intoneing her 1000 names will bring me closer

to her and bring her blessings into my exsitence. Don't Judge my friend, for

bringing judgement down upon others will surely bring judgement down upon you!
