Guest guest Report post Posted March 20, 2002 Hello ADI,I am back in the US,my home away from home.Got in this afternoon. Thank you for your concern regarding the riots.Suppose it can be said that it is all ma's wish. The verse that you mention,we repeat that after the Pujari when offering "anjali"to ma during Durga Puja.So i am familiar with it. There's another one perhaps you know,it goes like this... "Esho,shachandana......."this is all I know,(my knowledge)!!!! Thanks. Love Chumki.
Guest guest Report post Posted March 20, 2002 Welcome back, Chumki! Hope you're feeling better and settling in again. Saw your post on Vasant Navratri after I posted mine. I wonder if any other members could enlighten us at all on Vasant Navratri observances -- is this strictly a matter of home worship?
Guest guest Report post Posted March 21, 2002 Hello chumki, Nice to see you again. Now we know how to make chumki resurface again. [ just put Durga ma pic, and presto ! here comes chumki ] Welcome home. About Vasant Navratri, I know that my favourtie temple in Singapore ( Kaliamman temple ) will be having the Vasant Navratri prayers. And its a grand occasion but not as grand as the Maha Navratri. Guest guest Report post Posted March 21, 2002 yes chumki, i learned that verse from attending the durga puja held by the bengali association two years ago! i do not know about 'knowledge' dear ! mere book learning is not enough to reach 'devi' - if at all , it is pure child like innocence that attracts devi!!! you said it- chumi, eveything is the divine mother's will but we like to think we are in control!!! specially the so calledd 'enlightened' ones!!!! lol!!!!! shri ramakrishna used to say... "Not a leaf moves except by the will of God. Where is man's free will? All are under the will of God. Therefore I say: 'O Mother, I am the machine and Thou art the Operator; I am the chariot and Thou art the Driver. I move as Thou movest me; I do as Thou makest me do'." welcome back, my friend! i missed you so much! love and only love!!!!

Guest Victoria Coe Report post Posted December 28, 2013 Could anyone be so kind and tell me the correct pronunciation of Durgaoi in roman letters? Is it O as in "OM" and I as "I". Many thanks!
