The birds way as taught by SiddharameshwarMaharaj, guru of

Nisargadatta and Ranjit MaharajThis attachment describes the "bird's

way", the wayof understanding, which was discovered by Shriat least

25 enlightened disciples, the mostwell-known of whom are Nisargadatta

Maharaj andRanjit Maharaj. This description of the "bird'sway" is

taken from the book "Illusion vs. Reality:Dialogues with Shri Ranjit

Maharaj on the StatelessState" and has been highly condensed fromthe

version which appears in that book.Ranjit Maharaj met his master,

SiddharameshwarMaharaj, in 1924, when he, (Ranjit Maharaj) was

12years old. By the time his master died 12 yearslater, Ranjit

Maharaj had attained the "StatelessState".Ranjit Maharaj was an

extraodinary Master, kind,generous and patient

with all of the infinatequestions of those who came to him, only

existing toreply, clear doubts, and give the properunderstanding. And

when a stroke left him paralyzedand incomprehensible in October of

2000, he gestured, that the body should go. It had no further

purpose, and so it went. He started teaching westerners atage 84

through a "chance" visit to the US, andcontinued until his last

breath at age 87.More information on Shri Ranjit Maharaj, can be

foundat http://www.sadguru.com/ More information on the lineage of

Shri Ranjit Maharajand Nisargadatta Maharaji can be found at
