    hello. jai mataji.

i am very interested in this little ritual you have mentioned.

i have never heard of it before and never seen it done before either. could someone please help me out by answering some of my questions...

what is a 'dhar'/what does it mean?

is it done for any particular goddess?

    can anyone do it?

where must the water be poured? and do you pour out all of the contents as well like the coin, and leave it there?

are there any mantras/recital material that must be said with this ritual?

what are the benefits of this ritual?

i apologise for being so inquisitive but i am really interested in this and would like to do it for the nine days of navratri.

also could you recommend any special rituals i could do for the upcoming nine nights of the goddess?

    thankyou.

dhar is the offering of either water, milk or coconut water.with other items, to the goddess or god.

it is done for all gods or goddess but for each god or goddess the items which are mixed in the milk or waters might be different.but the items i mentioned is for any goddess.

the dhar can be poured on the earth or on a lingam(shiva stone),including the coin.

the benefits are watever good thingsa you want.

any mantra can be used it depends on the god or goddess you offering to for example if you offer it for durga your mantra will be om dum durga namah, for shiva it could be om namah shivaya.

    for navratri you can offer

    dhar,do jaap,offer havan,read durga saptashati.

  2. they would never see god they are just like some christians always condeming other ppl's belief.

anyone of the devi;s or duetas could lead you to mokhsa because all of them are the same one god just in different aspects.

in the vedas they call the supreme the devine paramatma.

just like there are many roads to lead you in the heart of a city so there are many paths to get moksha but condeming is not one.

Hello everyone i am new to this forum and i am a hindu living in california. My parents are originally from Fiji Islands, and 2 generations back are from varanasi/india. I have been studying guyanese culture alot lately nd it seems that guyanese and fiji culture is the same as we are all from the same area of india and all were brought from india as indentured servants. Some of us may even be long lost relatives!

Well I am a bhakt of devi maa. as she is my spiritual mother and my lineage is of brahmin caste, i have also been had my janeu/gurmukh pooja or initiation done.

So my grandparents did alot of pooja and i am trying to keep up with the tradition. One tradition i remember my grandmother performing is Devi Mata Ke dhaar.

I would like to get some info on how to make dhaar and what is the proper procedure so that i can offer this to my divine mother during the upcoming navratam.

What i am told is as follows please let me know if this is correct/incorrect. Thanks you very much.

    JAI MAHA KALI MAI KE!

    One bucket/lota of water

    mix equal portions of haldi/sugar/kapoor

also mix in 9 pairs of lawang

    couple pieces of Dhoop/durwa grass

and also mix red flower petals.

pour onto the dirt and pray maha devi ma for anything u wish.

IS THIS CORRECT? PLEASE LET ME KNOW,THANKS.

    JAI SIA RAM

    yes you can use it.

    but i use

    milk,water or coconut water

    mixed with sindoor,hardi,clove,nutmeg,champor,neem leaf,coin,flower.

make a triangle in the dirt and offer dhar in it.

    Hi all,

My name is Shiva and im living in Malaysia, this is my first time im posting and i feel very fortunate by accidently knowing this forum.

first up sorry i took sorry long to reply you

secondly it is not wrong to place a shiva lingam in your house it is very good go right ahead.

but when you place it there you must do a few things

1 take flower and sing a shiva song, after place flower on lingam.

2 do jaap of any shiva mantra

3 bath lingam in this order 1)milk 2)dahi or yogurt 3)ghee 4)honey )sugar mixed in water or rose water.

    4 bath with pure water.

    5 offer tilak,deeya,dhopam.fruit,water.

    6 do havan or homa

    7 do arti.

    8 say closing pray.

now people are getting mixed up, it is not the shiva lingam you cannot install in ur house

it is the shalagram or vishnu stone u shouldnt put in ur house ok.

or and the part about circling the lingam is very good shiva will bliss you

you are doing a very good job

  6. Shri Tara Devi

In the centre [of the island of gems] is the wish fulfilling tree. Under this, a sadhaka should meditate on himself as being one with Tarini, as bright as the rising sun, the utmost sphere of light, in a place surrounded by beautiful maidens with fans and bells, wafted by a gentle breeze bearing the odour of scent and incense - Todala Tantra, IV

Tara is quite well known to the West through Her Tibetan manifestations, but some are unaware of the important position She occupies in the Hindu tantrik pantheon. She is the second of the ten Mahavidyas.

The major sources used on this page are an important Kaula tantra called Brihad Nila Tantra (see below) and the Tararahasya (Secrets of Tara) of Brahmananda Giri. The first deals with the exposition of Nila Sarasvati -- the Sapphire Blue Sarasvati. Sarasvati is the Brahma-Shakti, or spouse of the Supreme Deity in his Creative aspect. The other aspects are Vishnu and Mahesh -- all three symbolised in the three heads of Lord Dattatreya, patron guru of the Natha tradition.

Some have attempted to separate the Hindu Tara from the Tibetan Tara, but there is little doubt that She is the same Devi. This is shown in a reference to Tara in the Hindu Tantrarajatantra, where Her mantra is given as Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha -- identical to the Tibetan version. Here Tara takes her form as Kurukulla.

The various other forms are given in Brihad Nila Tantra and Devirahasya, under the names Nilasarasvati, Aniruddha Sarasvati, Ugra Tara, Tarini. Nilasarasvati gives as the fruit of worshipping Her poesy and eloquence. This, aside from clearly relating Nilasarasvati to White Sarasvati, also points to this Goddess being the Shakti of the Letters of the Alphabet, the Matrika Shakti.

She has an important role in Tantrik cosmology because mantra, words, music are considered to be the very source of the cosmos. As Matrika Shakti She deludes the entire human race with Her Maya of letters, and words. This has been expressed in a Tantrik form, but, practically speaking, it is sufficient to say that much hypnosis (Maya) comes about via the medium of words. Millions of people have lost their lives through this power.

Thus Her power and place in the Tantrik pantheon is quite justified, and Her mantra is described as a Siddha-Vidya, the cause of Maya and Englamouring. The background GIF here is the bija mantra of Sarasvati, Aim.

    Abstract of Brihad Nila Tantra

    Chapter One

The tantra opens with a request from Devi to Mahakala Bhairava to reveal the Nila Tantra. Bhairava states that this tantra is the secret of all secrets and revealing it will cause lack of sccess. Having it in one's home is like having Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. It protects against all misfortunes and its specific virtue is that through it a person can become a miracle worker. It is the king of all tantras and is the core of the quintessence. Bhairava summarises its contents, which include daily worship (puja), the king of mantras, the rules of puja and preparation of its mantra, optional and occasional rites, the secrets of magical restraint, the rules of Kumari puja, hymns, meditations, how to become eloquent, rites of sacrifice (homa), the attainment of poesy, the secret sadhana, the secret mantra, alchemy, preparation of miraculous ashes (bhasma) and everything related to the six magical acts (satkarma).

Firstly, Bhairava deals with the Devi Tarini, which he says is a siddha vidya, causing Maya and englamouring. Her mantra is Om Hrim Strim Hum Phat. This vidya is said to be the heart of Nila Sarasvati. Its appliction is the attainment of poesy. It is to be pronounced facing north and meditated on as being like a lotus fibre extending from the base of the spine to the 1,000 petal lotus, like ten million fires, suns and moons.

Next the rules of bathing in the morning are described. Again, a sadhaka should face north, visualising the guru in the 1,000 petal lotus. Offering must be given to the rising sun. Then the gayatri or twilight mantra of Tarini should be pronounced, which is given as Tarayai vidmahe mahograyai dhimahi tanno devi prachodayat.

    Chapter Two

This covers the daily puja of Nila Sarasvati, in the usual way. It should be done in isolated places including cremation grounds, hills and forests. This puja also appears in the Todala Tantra, translated as part of the Magic of Kali.

    Chapter Three

Describes initiation and the characteristics of guru and disciple, as well as the right times for performing diksha (initiation).

    Chapter Four

Contains a description of purashcharana, the method of preparing a mantra so that it becomes successful. Tara's rosary is made of human bone and must be purified and made carefully.

    Chapter Five

Optional rites are the topic of this chapter, as well as the pithas or sacred spots. Kamarupa, where the yoni of the goddess fell after being sliced into fifty parts, is the most important.

    Chapter Six

Covers Kumari Puja, the worship of a maiden. This is preceded by an offering to jackals, implying that the rite takes place in the cremation ground (shmashana). As in the Kulachadamani Tantra, there is reference to the eight Kula trees, which must also receive their share of worship. A day is the same as a year. Wine must be used when worshipping Kalika but has to be purified first, because Shukra placed it under a curse.

    Chapter Seven

Covers the satkarma, or six magical acts, as well as worship of the kumaris. A most interesting section deals with Maha China Krama, which is, essentially left hand tantra (vamachara). The rule here is that of Svecchachara, the path of acting according to one's own will. In this, there is no need for external worship. All can be performed mentally. There are no rules as to the time the puja should be performed, no rules about the place, no need for preparation. The conjunction of yoni and lingam is the essence of the rite. During intercourse, the partners should mentally recite the Tara mantra. It should be performed in the cremation ground.

    Chapter Eight

Describes the yantra of Tara (see above). In the centre she and Mahakala are in sexual union. The yantra should be engraved on copper, smeared with kundagola and svayambhu flowers (menstrual blood) and scents including camphor. The practitioner meditates in the heart on Tarini and then draws her, by vital breath, using a flower, into the centre of the yantra.

She is then considered to be present in the yantra and various offerings (upacharas) are dedicated to her and to her attendants in the different parts.

    Chapter Nine

Heroic worship is the subject of this chapter, which I have translated on the site. Vira Sadhana.

    Chapter Ten

Continues the subject of the previous chapter and expands on Lata Sadhana (creeper sadhana), a synonym for sexual worship.

    Chapter Eleven

Gives the Tara mantras, the foremost of which is Om Hrim Strim Hum Phat. Ugra Tara's seventeeen letter mantra is Om padme mahapadme padmavati maye svaha. Nila Sarasvati mantra is Aim Hrim Shrim Hsaum Shauh vada vada vagvadini Klim Klim Klim Nilasarasvati Aim Aim Aim kahi kahi kararim Svaha.

    Chapter Twelve

The origin of Tarini is the subject of the chapter. She was created by Mahakali to destroy the demons and bring the gods back to their former position.

    Chapter Thirteen

This chapter covers the worship of Mahakali and has been translated in full in the Magic of Kali.

    Chapter Fourteen

Kamakhya and Tripura worship. The devi Kamakhya dwells at Kamarupa and has a yantra wherein the 64 yoginis receive honour. Tripura's mantra is Aim Klim Sauh, and the tantra says that she represents the triple Kundalini, her puja being triple in every way.

    Chapter Fifteen

A geographical chapter describing mountains, streams and springs sacred to the worship of various devis and devas.

    Chapter Sixteen

This chapter outlines the specific festivals of Tara and the things to be done during the twelve solar months, as well as the kinds of offerings which please the goddess.

    Chapter Seventeen

Outlines and continues details about worshipping Kali. Her favourite time is on the fourteenth day of the dark moon in the month of Kartik, when she should be worshipped at night. The dhyana (meditation image) of Kali is described with details of the types of pits in which to do homa. This chapter also gives puja details of Sandhya (Twilight) Devi.

    Chapter Eighteen

    The thousand names of Tara.

    Chapter Nineteen

The armour and the secret mantra of Tara are described.

    Chapter Twenty

    The hundred names of Tara.

    Chapter Twenty-One

A most interesting chapter which deals with alchemy. Copper and lead can be turned into gold. Adepts can create a powerful, magical ash which creates miracles. The chapter also describes the divya (celestial), vira (heroic) and pashu (beast-like) characteristics of tantrik practitioners.

Here is this short chapter in Itrans.

  7. you dont need kamadeva mantra to attract a person

your ista deuta or devi has a mantra that can be used to attract a person wether is kali, shiva, hanuman, durga etc all have mantra to attract, protect, destroy enemies and more.

and it better to let your ista do it becuz you have power with them also you have a personal relationship with them as well.

they are lik your mother and father so they would help you faster.

  8. i honestly tought bout it a very very long time before i decided to say 'hey not all ppl abuse its power she maybe devoted an will use it wisely'.

i she most know the basics about doing sadhana so i decided to give her it.

but i realize she doesnt know the basics which every hindu should know.

secondly she says she fasts on sunday and do arti.

my godchild is 9 yrs old and he is currently fasting for 9 days without salt and offering everyday

108 lota of dhar,1080 jaap in havan and a next 1080 jaap using rudraksa mala

he also sings hanuman chalisa everyday and he is only 9yrs old.

i dont mean to hurt her i know she is goin through a tough time but please nah try and learn about ur culture just a little please.

am sorry if i sound harsh but i jus dont sugar coat things sorry.

  9.

    Dear Bhairo,

I'm requesting you again....Could you please let me know the equivalent mantra for desiring a woman of one's choice?

    Thank You.

no i will not ppl does abuse it and they hurt ppl very bad you have no need for it pray to shiva and he will bless you wit someone

  10.

    Bhairo ji,

im sorry but im a bit offended by ur last remark. U barely know me and yet u make false judgement on me? just because i have never done this type of "work" doesnt mean im nastic. to make things clear, i do aarti every sunday and fast sundays and tuesday for mataji, and no not because i want things but because i have faith therefore i dont need to learn about hinduism. Next time, please ask, dont jump to conclusions. Not very nice. By the way, i was asking you those questions because i wanted to get it right, not because i dont know about my religion.

i dont know u but the way u were sounding its lik u didnt know anything bout hindism.

just by asking wat is jaap.everyone knows wat jaap is.

you fast on a sunday and do arti oooo wow

it have ppl who do more than that including myself and still have problems but we learn to deal with it and put faith in god.

a next thing if you havent completed jaap in a guru or ista devi or deuta then it wouldnt work because you dont hav the shakti of the devine you need that shakti to put power in the mantra i gave you.

its not nice wat i said i admit that some ppl just need a wake up call.

you asking me if this mantra ever worked before.would i give you somthing that doesnt work.

hear wat i feel i go stay away from all yours problems an them fix up ppl bye

  11.

ok and whats next after i complete this 100,000 times? do i need to sit in any direction or in front of my mandir or it doesnt matter? any particular day to start? and whats the name of this type of mantra? and what if i dont or cant say some of the words right? sorry for all these questions but as u can see i really want ths to work. and another question, has this particular mantra worked for anyone else?

practice saying the mantra before u start,

    sit facing east

    start on a friday

yes it has work for many ppl already but its also up to ur faith and belief in god.

you sound lik the kind of person who only knows god when u need help.

  12.

and is that 100,000 a day or i can break that down in 4 to 5 days? any particular day to start?

no no i am sorry i mean you hav to complete a 100,000

    not 100,000 per day.

so u can choose to do it in 5 days 40 days or how much days you can do it for.

you have to make your choice how much days you want to do it in and complete in that time.

hey try and help urself get better dont get in masaan kriya it very dangerous and if done wrong will giv u worst problems than what you have with no cure.

  14.

Thanks Bhairo... just some more questions.

    >What is the mantra for kaal bhairav

    >Actually there is no river in my city... is it possible to use normal water with few drops of GangaJal in it.

yea you can do that if there isnt any river around.

just use a simple mantra om shree kala bhairava raksa raksa hum phut.

One thing i would like to make clear that knowing of its power to wreak havoc i will never try to apply this kriya on my enemy also. Since last 10-11 years my family is facing various kinds of problems i have seen many failures, mysterious death of my father, various fights among family members strange things around me (specially suddenly some laungs (clove) appearing in my house). Despite of all problems, I was a brilliant student till my intermediate but in my engineering studies i have lost my brain i don't know why then suddenly i met a priest who lives in a temple near my college he told me that on my house some closer relative has spread ashes from five different shamshaan (cremation ground) in my house, and during construction of my house that relative also buried a bone in my house. He also pointed out one strange coincidence that since last 5-6 years no priest has entered my house (and that was due to this extreme powerful masaan kriya). He has told me some precautions which i started and there is improvement in our daily life conditions, but he also told me that complete cure is known to his guru who will be back after nearly one year.

thats why i am trying to know more about this tantra... specially preventive actions.

And above all i want to send back this masaan on whoever has send it on my home and disturbed our life to such an extent.

    .

you have to take it in steps

first step you must make offering for kala bhairava for five days.

offer him lime mala, deeya(sarsoon oil),fruit and water.

do jaap for him 1080 everyday.

the lime mala that you offer him the pervious day take it and put it in water from a river collected 5:00am and mop ur house with it.

then take a few branches of neem leaf and sweep ur house with it ok.
