They say that in ancient India, women occupied a very important position, in fact a superior position to, men. It is a culture whose only words for strength and power are feminine -"Shakti'' means "power'' and "strength.''
However, it is also said that women have been discriminated within the Hindu tradition. Men is more superior and women is supposed to serve men. Lower-caste women had greater freedom in many areas but were discriminated against by the higher-caste men and women.
I am confused, so are Hindu women being discriminated, or being respected in Hinduism?
