fix it. I asked a similar question to Jayatitha so many moons ago in SB class. He said the atom was the smallest material particle, I asked then what do we call an electron? He jumped all over me. I just took that to mean he didn't know. I don't know, three very important words. Nice observation prabhu eagle eye.

Concerning Satsvarupa Maharaja GBC Executive Committee Statement
theist replied to krsna's topic in Spiritual Discussions
I hear you Zack. I posted this on its own thread but should have put it hear. ---------- Honest discussions? 06/10/04 01:24 PM Edit Reply Found this this morning on Chakra. In reply to: -- Honest discussions by Caitanya-candrodaya das Posted June 10, 2004 It is nice to hear so much support and appreciation for Satsvarupa Maharaja honesty, openness and transparency from a whole section of devotees. I would however point out that even with best intentions such discussions could be quite disturbing for both his disciples and Maharaja himself. He has a medical condition of debilitating migraines caused by anticipated anxiety and reading all the comments even favorable just adds stress! -- So don't read them. He has lived a very public life, and taken a very public position placing himself as a medium between God and man. Naturaly when that has been exposed to have been overblown in such a way that is disruptive to the Vaisnava community on the whole people are going to express their thoughts and opinions on the matter. In reply to: -- Some communications posted were for his disciples. In this way they are private. So if letter say 'dear disciples' you really should not post it -- just out of respect for very intimate relationships he has with his disciples -- Do you mean to say that with this "very intimate relationship he has with his disciples..." a personal and private mode of communication hasn't been established or maintained? Meaning a private e-mail list of somekind. In reply to: -- ...and his example of honesty, not often found in the history of Vaisnavism or among contemporaries. -- In the history of Vaisnavism???? Please pull your head out of the sand. He was outed. In reply to: -- [Editor's note: The letter from Satsvarupa Goswami and the GBC EC statements were forwarded to Chakra from "SDG's Communications Management Team" for posting in order to reach "Temple Leaders, Disciples, and Friends of His Holiness Satsvarupa das Goswami".] -- -
Yes he forgives sin. But to perform sin expecting that Krsna will just forgive it is in itself a sin and an offense to the holy name. If we plan this way in some recess of our mind and become aware of it we should beg krsna to intervene and help us lose taste for the sinful activity before we do it. Well he let's us have our desires. That's how we all got into this material mess in the first place. If He helps us avoid it then that is really His mercy. But the real mercy is to have our hearts cleansed of all false desires then no sins can take hold. For every sin there is a reaction. but who is to say that for an aspiring devotee Krsna may show His mercy by increasing the reaction ten fold. We can't cheat krsna.

This is way out my league and probably everyone here. But perhaps someone may know of a good reference to offer you. Let's hope so. I was struck by this comment from you. Yes you are a loving Vaisnav, and by this loving care you are giving him he surely will be also, soon. Through you obviously Krsna's grace is surrounding him even now. For he is not the broken body before you, as you know, but the self within. The loving expressions you are giving him are surely piercing his diseased body and directly reaching him. Yours is the highest purest medicine he(or anyone) could hope for. I know you also want to repair his bodily form. If that's not possible try not to lament too hard. Love doesn't die with the earthly frame and if Krsna wills it you will meet up again in a much finer world. Hare Krsna

By 2007, almost half of the mobiles sold worldwide will include a camera
theist replied to krsna's topic in World Review
for the show camera/phone model myself. Until then I'll just make due with my own rig. Oh god, did I just write that? See what kind of mind I have to live in? -
Sounds a little impersonal to me. Also because this is a discussion forum that comes with a reply button on every post the venue may be out of place for Guests (whoever you are referring to, I haven't a clue) who desire this. But it could work if said Guest would add to his post "No need to respond, just believe", then I am sure all would get the message.

Ahmed when Muslims learn to live with others without enslaving, raping, and bombing those people in the name of Allah your words may be taken seriously. Go preach to the massive amount of sick fanatics in your own religion while you can before the Americans feel driven to end your "civilization" in a flash. Scarey picture. In one hour all the cities in the Middle East vaporized. Talking philosophy is one thing, but in your opening line you sought to strike at the heart of those very people that you pretend to want to dialoge with. The stone throwing age has passed. So has the need for your religion.

What is needed is meditation on the word accept. Have we *accepted* Christ or Prabhupada? Or are we confusing saluting at their image as accepting them? Perhaps when we really *accept* the devotee we will be granted the vision to see Him in a "multitude of forms", and we will be able to offer our respects there as well, without thinking we are traitors to the one truth or seeing others as misguided.

Yeah moods come and go. It's hard to chant even when we are not in the mood but eventually we will learn that. later Hare Krishna

I now see the confusion. We posted at about the same time. I was refering to the post above yours. Of course if guest would identify himself in some fashion that could be avoided.

Dear souls, especially those of you who have been in or near this Krsna consciousness movement for awhile, some almost 40 years. Alot has come and gone. Not all positive. But then what do we expect to find when we take birth in this dimension of exploitation? It's past time to drop that old baggage that we have been hauling around with us, for sometimes decades. Residue from old real or perceived slights that we have been wounded by. These old resentments simply weigh us down to this bodily consciousness. They are a great part of these chains that bind us to the world of payback, tit for tat, eye for an eye, do unto me and I'll surely do unto you back. The dark land where karmic law rules. The place of birth and death from which we are seeking liberation. Is it worth it? To linger here until we feel we have gotten sufficent revenge. "If I don't get them now then in a future birth I will for certain." One thing is also certain, this is the type of thinking that keeps us taking one more birth, and from that birth we are sure to develop further entanglements. The only end to this cycle is grace and forgiveness. Forgivness is the antithesis of resentment and revenge. From the One who prayed to God to forgive those that mercilessly beat Him and placed Him on the cross,"Father forgive them they know not what they do", this simple way to open the door to freedom. He taught us to pray; "Father...Please forgive our tresspasses, As we forgive those that tresspass against us." Along with our memorizing and quoting sastra, and instead of our trying to sort out the long past interactions between this swami and that babaji, we should engage in some deep introspection, checking for weeds in the garden, and pull out by the roots all thoughts and feeling of resentment and revenge. Especially deep rooted ones soon start to feel like they are an integral part of us. Pulling them out can actual feel like we are attacking our very self. Actually they are parasites that have been allowed to grow in our subtle body. They feed off our life energy and grow and spread. Spreading even into our physical form and manifesting in diverse ways as this disease or the other. The chanting may bring them to our awareness, but we may choose to stubbornly hang on to them, like some old family friend who always brought us down but by familarity came to be accepted as one who really belonged, and thereby allow them to remain a wall to chanting suddha-nama, our very goal. Better for us if we just lighten up and let it go. Hare Krsna

Please register a name fake or not, so we can have further conversations without confusing you with all the others. Just to let you know there are tapes and CD's of Srila Prabhupada chanting on his beads. I find these extremely helpful to play while I chant. My mind wanders alot and so ihis chanting helps prevent that. Very inspirational and spiritual powerful. This recording is also played in temples every morning for japa time when everyone is chanting japa together. The sound of a pure devotee chanting Krsna's names is absolutely pure and we cannot overestimate its effects on our consciousness. Hare Krsna

I meant that for everyone. I haven't followed the thread but did read that post this morning and liked it, so I wanted to direct more attention to it. Hare Krnsa

Before reading this please reread above post again.

Temporary setbacks are temporary. That little drop of the real thing will eternally remain and manifest into an ocean. After eons of cycling in the realm of birth and death finally a soul decides to pick up some beads and chant three rounds of Krsna's name. Such a glorious thing we sometimes take as ordinary or even trite. That is due to our lack of vision. But now the essential work begins. How to persevere through the ups and downs of transitional life, transforming our consciousness from mundane life to transcendence. Big job? Oh yes. Good thing Krishna is here to see us through. The sooner we accept His complete mercy the less suffering and hassaling around we will have to endure.

Reporter: Who will succeed you when you die?
theist replied to krsna's topic in Spiritual Discussions
So clear. One is left bewildered trying to see how opposing sides can maintain themselves year after year. Maybe it is that selective hearing of only that which we think strengthens our preconceived notions. We must beat that rascal mind into submission. -
Sometimes my mind will tune in to devotees exchanging hurtful statements to each other. Usually I am in the mix but sometimes I try to relish the poison from a little distance. But the reality is their is no safe place when aparadha is flying back and forth. Will Krishna be merciful to me and free me from this abominable taste for negativity and gossip before I leave this body? I really don't wish to die like this again.

to hear about another's good fortune. Dear Lord Krishna, Please help us all become loving attached to chanting your names. Hare Krishna

Cannot make one happy. The soul can only find this inloving Krsna. But for those of us who are wrapped up in body consciousness it can be of benefit to negate excess pain. I used to get these horrendous temsion headaches. When one would begin al I wanted to do was sleep. I couldn't read chant or anything. But if I took a few aspirin it would dull the pain and give enough temporary relief so that I could get on with my life. It wasn't addressing the underlying cause, it was only temporary, but I was always thankful for the reprieve.

Maybe it would be best to first find the Lord in one's own heart instead of persuing this mind torture.

What is true faith and what is blind faith?
theist replied to jayaisvara's topic in Spiritual Discussions
It feels incomplete left to the above definition. people have faith in things that ultimately fail them. I seem to remember reading B.R. Sridhar Maharaja saying that faith is the effulgence of Radharani. Did I remember correctly. I believe the sanskrit is sraddha. If so it must have a meaning that faith doesn't fully represent. -

Faith in Krsna. Such a cloudy issue for me. I just don't get it.
