    Muslim-Hindu Peace Plan

    BY ISA DAS

EDITORIAL, Oct 5 (VNN) — The Muslim-Hindu Peace Plan based on the teachings of Srila Prabhupada

The desire to prevent World War III and bring peace to the world is most likely the inner mood of most of us today. To do that we need to come to a common understanding of religious terminology and beliefs.

For example most of us have no idea that the name Allah comes from the Hebrew letter Alef, our A, in the English alphabet.

This simple point contains enough information for every Christian, Jew and Hindu to accept Allah as a name of God.

I will explain further, in the "Old Testament" which Jewish people call the 5 books of Moses, God explains that He is the beginning to the end. This same idea is expressed in the New Testament. Revelation 22:13, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. This English usage of Alpha is based on the Hebrew Alef. Also in the Hindu (Vedic) scripture, Bagavad Gita, Krishna says "of letters I am A."

Has God sent so many messengers, each with a different message? Is He sitting in the Garden of Eden laughing at us? I think not! We have twisted His message based on our own material desire, creating our own Hell on Earth.

The objection we find from our Muslim brothers and sisters today, comes from the desire to bring the word back to God and His ways. We find this mood in our Jewish-Christian tradition also. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

This lack of disciple, this foolish rush of insane materialism is what every deeply religious person objects to, no matter which faith he or she is coming from. We can take good example from our Amish brothers and Hindu (Vedic) sages.

An error of modern society and religion is to identify the body as the self. The Bhagavad-Gita clearly explains that we should see and accept the spiritual essence (the soul) of each living being as spiritually equal. There it is said, "The humble sage, by virtue of true knowledge, sees with equal vision a learned and gentle Brahman, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater [outcast]." [bagavad Gita 5.18]

How does the learned sage see every living entity with equal vision? He sees the spirit soul within the heart of each of God's creations. He understands that although living forms may appear different, those appearances are only the external coverings of the soul, and that spiritually we are all equal.

A careful analysis shows that all problems result from our first mistake of identifying the body as the self. If we identify ourselves by race, religion and ethnic group we will then suffer or enjoy the results of that identity, but the fact is we are spiritually equal and the bodily identity that we accept is both temporary and insignificant compared to our eternal spiritual identity. We suffer due to birth, disease, old age and death; we need not identify with the body, which is being afflicted by these difficulties.

If everyone understood and acted on the level of the soul rather than the body, the world's problems would practically cease. Understanding the difference between matter and spirit, and that God is the controller of all things, is the essence of knowledge.

It is natural that when we become overwhelmed by difficulties, we become aware of our dependence on God.

Unfortunately, due to our deep attachment to materialism, we are drawn to perceive religion in much the same manner, as we perceive ordinary social activities. That is, we become attached to identifying with the external or social side of religion, while we forget its essence-loving service to God.

Our modern use of the word religion, expresses an external alterable faith, while the Sanskrit world dharma, implies an internal or essential eternal relationship with God. Our religion or faith can change but the soul's relationship with God is eternal. For example, I may claim that I am a Christian today, but I may adopt the practices of a Hindu or of a Jew tomorrow. However, whatever faith you my follow, the essence of that faith is loving service to God.

We must understand that our Muslim brothers and sisters who have come to understand the true message of Allah accept all of us as children of God based on this verse from the Koran.

2.62: Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.

We should also understand that as a nation, nay as a human race if we do not come to follow God's laws and develop our love for Him and His creation, our future is all to clear.

For Our Lord says: Isaiah 46: I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.

    Thank You and God's Blessings

  2. Dear Karthik Prabhu,

Krsna or Allah they are names of the absolute truth.God created different religions because of the different lessons different people need to learn.Under his higher authority different paths are laid down from time to time.

    >>May be I was once in the body of a rapist and murderer. Should I approve those acts?

No you shouldn't.I was talking about a soul trapped in a body which is not very intelligent to understand higher truths. At least Muslims pray to God and worship him.Not all Muslims are fundamentalist,God has not given up on them...they are learning.

    >>Could you kindly say that to the devotees whose temple was razed in Turkmenistan? Or to the innocent who were killed in Godhra?

Great souls are always put to the test. Some hidden truth behind them??There is no coincidences in this world everything happens for a reason.

We must forgive, forget and move on.All things must pass on.All suffering is worth it,Krsna is waiting at the end of our lives to take us back home.We are not these bodies and never fall prey to the clutches of maya.

Hope this meets you in good health and spirit!

    God bless

Yes I haven't read the whole Bhavishya Purana,I do remember something about establishment of a terrible religion.

I have always wondered why it is like that...what is the solution to this Hindu-Muslim problem?Generally in this age population is foolish and only very few can handle this situation in a healthy way.Let us preach good will and pray...Krsna will take care of rest.

Thank you Sushil ji for your kind reply. No it isn't harsh at all!God bless you.

  5. Bhavishya Purana predicts the coming of Prophet Muhammed.Lord Krishna sent him to lay down a spiritual path for the people of middle east who were not very intelligent.

99.99% of population is demonic(Godless) today. It's not our business to condemn.Once we were also in a Muslim body who knows?,now going up the ladder towards God(love). In all this hodge-podge we often forget something important--love.Krishna is love.

So-called "evil" does not really exist, at least not in the way it is thought of on earth. What passes for "evil" is really ignorance (i.e. darkness). Light is knowledge of higher spiritual realities and darkness is ignorance of higher spiritual realities. Our ignorance causes us to make mistakes from which we must learn. In the end, those who make the most mistakes will learn the most.

God does not care about a person's religious affiliation, only his or her heart.

Doctrine, creed and race mean nothing. No matter what we believe we are all children of God and the only rule is God's true law - do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

The true definition of "sin" is believing you are separate from others and God, then acting accordingly.

Our religious affiliation is unimportant to God. What is important is how we show our love for God by the way we treat others.

God created different religions because of the different lessons different people need to learn.

There are really only two "true" religions: the religion of love and the religion of fear.

The gods of one faith are the angels, saints, or supernatural beings of other faiths. There is only one God who is worshipped through many different teachings of many different religions.

The most important thing is to really live what our religion teaches. We must put it into practice. Whatever we practice becomes a part of us, whether good or bad.

Those religions, which claim some singular relationship with God, claim superiority over other religions, or exclude people for various reasons, go against God's law that we love one another as we love ourselves.

The only purpose of our existence is to dedicate our lives to be faithful to God in all things.

If we are not really trying to reform ourselves, becoming all good like God is, and not living God's teachings, then we are on the road to a much more painful afterlife. The key is striving to live the Golden Rule: do unto others as we would have them do unto us.

This Hindu-Muslim mentality is taking over India and bewildering the minds of even learned men.Big time nonsense.

God is love. Love is light. God is the light that loves.

The only reality is God and God is love. God loves without limit. God is everything.

God is everywhere because nothing exists that is not a part of God.Life itself is God.

God is the creative energy of the universe, expressing itself as us and everything else. Wherever we are, God is. Like God, we are constantly expressing ourselves in some way.

All creation is God exploring God's very Being through every way imaginable, through every one of us.

Within the light of God, we realize that everyone and everything is connected to God. In the light is the cure for all diseases, the knowledge within every universe. The light is wisdom and love beyond all comprehension.

The closer one gets to God, the closer one comes to all the light, love and knowledge in the universe.

Being one with God is like suddenly knowing every grain of sand in the universe and knowing why God put it there.

God is more than light. God is also the darkness. God is everything.

The small inner voice in your thoughts is the voice of God.

The little voice inside us that prompts us to do good things comes from God. It is the light of love inside each of us.

God doesn't force anyone to heaven, hell, or anywhere. We are free to choose and build our destiny. All paths lead back to God.

In the light of God, it is impossible to lie to yourself, or to others or to God. There is no place for secrets to hide.

God does not judge us when we die. In the clear light and love of God, some may judge, condemn and punish only themselves. There is no judgment except the judgment one levels at oneself.

God has promised not to intervene in our lives unless we ask.

It is God's love that sends us on our journey and it is our love for God that allows us to return.

God feels our pain when we hurt.

God's standard is pure love. Our lives will be compared to this standard in the light of God. Pure love is serving God and others without having self-centered motives.

God's overriding desire is to purify the darkness of our souls, irrespective of the suffering it puts us through to achieve that end. If we learn to accept our situations in life, instead of fighting it, then our suffering is greatly minimized

God does not care about theology. God cares mostly about your heart.

Your beliefs shape the kind of feedback you get from God.

It doesn't matter what you call God. The different religions have different ways of explaining the same God.

    "Love is all."

    Joy

  6. mmaranr,

also please visit http://www.near-death.com to read profound near death experiences which is not contrary to Vedic knowledge.in simple lay man's term they describe the truth.place together all religions, mystical practises, yoga etc and soon you will get the understanding.Absolute truth is very straight forward...

from one of the near death experiences:

"All in an instant. As I comprehended one thing, more questions and answers would come to me, all building on each other, and interacting as if all truth were intrinsically connected. The word "omniscient" had never been more meaningful to me. Knowledge permeated me. In a sense it became me, and I was amazed at my ability to comprehend the mysteries of the universe simply by reflecting on them.

I wanted to know why there were so many churches in the world. Why didn't God give us only one church, one pure religion? The answer came to me with the purest of understanding. Each of us, I was told, is at a different level of spiritual development and understanding. Each person is therefore prepared for a different level of spiritual knowledge. All religions upon the earth are necessary because there are people who need what they teach. People in one religion may not have a complete understanding of the Lord's gospel and never will have while in that religion. But that religion is used as a stepping stone to further knowledge. Each church fulfills spiritual needs that perhaps others cannot fill. No one church can fulfill everybody's needs at every level. As an individual raises his level of understanding about God and his own eternal progress, he might feel discontented with the teachings of his present church and seek a different philosophy or religion to fill that void. When this occurs he has reached another level of understanding and will long for further truth and knowledge, and for another opportunity to grow. And at every step of the way, these new opportunities to learn will be given.

Having received this knowledge, I knew that we have no right to criticize any church or religion in any way. They are all precious in his sight. Very special people with important missions have been placed in all countries, in all religions, in every station of life, that they might touch others. There is a fullness of the Gospel, but most people will not attain it here. In order to grasp this truth, we need to listen to the Spirit and let go of our egos."

Eating egg is not allowed because of suffering and torture those helpless birds endure.

Onion and garlic are foods in the mode of passion.

I still eat onion and garlic,it's an offense to offer such food to Lord Krishna!

  9. The Meaning of "God is Love"

The phrase and concept that "God is love" is often used by many people of different religions, but it is hardly ever explained adequately. People may say that God is all-loving, forgiving, or your eternal friend, which is true, but, essentially, this is a fairly shallow explanation of how God is love. So if we are to understand how a person can experience so much spiritual ecstasy that the material pleasures become insignificant, then this is a fitting time to analyze how God is the source of the ecstasy and love and happiness for which we are always seeking. But only in the highest levels of Vedic literature, especially in the Vaishnava tradition, do we find a proper and more complete explanation.

The Vedic literature describes the Absolute Truth as sat-cit-ananda vigraha, which means the personal form of eternal knowledge and bliss. And in the Taittiriya Upanishad (Second Valli, Seventh Anuvaka), the Absolute Truth is described as concentrated ananda or bliss. It is understood that this spiritual bliss is the dynamic and personal form of Sri Krishna. The Brahman effulgence, or great white light, is the expansive impersonal glow of that bliss. So the impersonal Brahman originates from the Supreme Personality, who is Sri Krishna, who is also the source of all bliss. The taste or experience of this bliss is dormant or undynamic in the brahmananda, or Brahman effulgence. By its very nature, the impersonal Brahman is not something with which you can have a personal relationship. There are no activities or reciprocation in the Brahman. In this way, it leaves unfulfilled those who merge into the impersonal Brahman, or who believe it to be the highest truth. But in the personality of Krishna, the bliss is always expanding and ever-growing to new dimensions in the pastimes and activities Krishna performs. The most sublime taste or experience of the pleasure of this spiritual bliss is called rasa, and Krishna is the rasa, or the center and source of this ecstatic spiritual experience. In other words, He is the most relishable object. This can also be broadened to mean that Krishna is the most worshipable and lovable object, as well as the ultimate realization and object of all knowledge, religion, yoga, and love. But Krishna is also rasika, which means the ultimate enjoyer of rasa, the experience of spiritual bliss.

Now we can begin to understand that Krishna is not only the ultimate object of all love, but also is the topmost enjoyer of all loving relationships. Therefore, in the dynamic and expanding form of Krishna, He has unlimited desires to enjoy spiritual loving relationships or pastimes, known as lila. To do this He expands Himself into the dual form of Krishna and Radharani, His eternal consort and topmost devotee. In other words, Radharani is the feminine aspect of Lord Krishna and is non-different from Krishna, but together (both the masculine and feminine aspects) They fulfill the purpose of engaging in sublime loving pastimes to exhibit supremely transcendental loving exchanges.

Radha is bhava, pure and selfless love personified. Everything Radha does is entirely for Krishna's pleasure. Radha is also hladini-shakti, the bliss potency that resides in Krishna. This bliss or pleasure potency within Krishna expands throughout the spiritual and material worlds, and whatever pleasure is felt by anyone is a form of this pleasure potency. But the closer we get to Krishna on the spiritual platform, the more directly we can feel the potency of this pleasure source. And its topmost personified form is Radharani. Therefore, Krishna engages in loving exchanges with Radharani and enjoys the bliss of Her love many millions of times more than the pleasure that comes from His own self. Radharani's love is the selfless love of Krishna's personified bliss potency. In this way, Krishna is the sweetest object of love, while Radha is the sweetest devotee of love.

As Their loving relationship increases, there are more and more devotees who assist in this pastime who also participate in these loving affairs of Krishna. Since all living beings are spiritual in nature, we all have a spiritual relationship with the Supreme Spirit, Sri Krishna. In the spiritual world this loving relationship fully awakens, and everyone feels great bliss because of this. As Krishna's pleasure increases, it expands to all the devotees who feel the ecstasy and reflect it back to Krishna through their devotional exchange. Krishna then reciprocates this love even more, and the loving exchange (bhakti) between Krishna and His devotees continues to expand and grow to new and higher levels in never-ending cycles. Thus, everyone is fulfilled in this spiritual love which is completely beyond the boundaries and estimation of material pleasures and relationships.

This is how a person can feel completely fulfilled and satisfied when he or she is engaged in pure Krishna bhakti. This is why bhakti, which fully manifests as pure love for God, is the real goal of any religion or yoga system. It is both the means and the goal. Therefore, the ultimate end of bhakti-yoga, or the devotional process, is not to enter heaven or the spiritual world, but simply to enter prema, which is to regain one's spiritual loving relationship with the Supreme regardless of what is our external situation. This is our natural spiritual position. This is the emotional fulfillment and love for which we are always looking. But rarely do we find such love and happiness while we are in the material concept of life, when we think that the temporary material body is our real identity. This sublime loving relationship is desired by all souls as well as the Supreme Being. This love is the gravitational force between us all, but can be fully manifested only on the spiritual level, between the living entities and the Supreme.

This is actually how God is love, all-loving, and the supreme lovable object for whom we all are looking, whether we understand this or not. No matter where we try to look for love, nothing can completely satisfy the soul as much as this spiritual love.

This is why Vaishnavas, worshipers of Lord Krishna, claim no allegiance to any particular religion, but only continue developing pure, unalloyed bhakti, love of God, through the practice of devotional service, bhakti-yoga. When this fully manifests as prema, such a pure relationship becomes so intense that there is no awareness of anything else. In this pure consciousness, there is no question of being Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, or being affected by any other distinction. There is only God and the lovers of God on the spiritual platform, all of whom are absorbed in sublime and boundlessly ecstatic, loving exchanges.

The Supreme is waiting for us to return to our spiritual position to engage in these spiritual activities. How long it takes for us to return to our spiritual home simply depends on how long we allow ourselves to be influenced or controlled by the material impulses and desires which bind us to this material existence. We should not feel that we are so sinful or fallen that we have no hope for developing our spiritual relationship with the Supreme, for He is always waiting for His lost servants. But we have to begin to show that we want to return to Him by rising above bodily identifications and realizing the science of the soul: our real identity.

The essence of our pure spiritual identity and spiritual experience is our direct and personal loving relationship with the Supreme Being. This spiritual identity is the underlying principle of unity amongst all living entities. Reawakening this identity and love is the ultimate purpose of any true spiritual path. And this is most easily attained through the process of bhakti-yoga, the yoga of love of God.

  11. Dear Skeptic,

There are many religions in this world because of different lessons people needed to learn. You will see in those near death experiences(www.near-death.com) they do not loose their individuality at any given point of time.Impersonal philosphy unnecessary bewilders conditioned souls,How could conciousness be impersonal?

"Perfect Questions and Perfect Answers" here is the link it is online it is helpful.

    Take care.God bless u.

  12. Dear Ram,

It is very simple.Conciousness is the symptom of the soul.We never say "I am the brain" or "I finger"...this very "I" is the soul.

www.near-death.com has real life stories of near death experiences.I have a body but I am not this body.I am a spirit soul, part and parcel of the universal conciousness. You will see at that site when people die most of them are completely taken by surprise. Most of their life they were busy pursuing material happiness and now all that is useless!Everyone sees that he/she is 100% different from the body.It is like a dress we use for sometime and then throw it off.Hope this helps.

    God bless.

    PS:

www.krishna.org has many articles. You will find things nicely described there. Please read all of them at your convenience.Thank you.

  13. Dear Skeptic,

No,impersonal Devotional service is impossible.God is universal conciousness where as our conciousness is limited to our bodies only.Conciousness is always personal, for example we are also personal beings.God is infinite so his faces are everywhere in you and me,even in an atom.

Sruti, the unwritten portion of the Vedas tells us this about the Almighty - "OM Poornamadah Poornamidam Poornaad Poornamudachyate; Poornasya Poornamaadaaya Poornamevaavashisyate". Translated, this verse means "What is Whole - This is Whole - What has come out of the Whole is also Whole; When the Whole is taken out of the Whole, the Whole still remains Whole". The purport is that the Infinite cannot be measured arithmetically - God is Infinite. However, although you cannot divide or subtract from the Infinite, you can definitely represent the Infinite in different ways. The Infinite also manifests in billions of ways.

The truth is - Hinduism is monotheistic (Believes in One God). However, Hinduism believes not only in One God, but also in His Supreme Personality. This personality of the Supreme Being is manifested in different forms around us and within us perpetually. To meditate on the Supreme Being, man would have to absorb all these infinite manifestations (which are continually taking place without a starting point or an end) with his finite or limited capabilities. Clearly, this is not possible.

When we speak of krishna or God we mean "everything".We were never "outside" of God and God is everything. This is very simple God has got unlimited personalities, each of them unique in their own ways.Krishna is the supreme personality of Godhead,he is "allattractive"...

Impersonal concept of God is for less intelligent men,It dosen't describe the absolute truth 100%.God is always a person,Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagvatam has all the answers. You may want to visit www.krishna.org and read articles there. Also www.near-death.com has many profound near death experiences...you will see there God is personal.People have different concepts according to the knowledge they have got,we will see Lord Krishna after death and for those who are atheist they will see a blinding loving light like 10,000 of suns(It is Brahmajyoti or Brahman which is subordinate to God).

    God bless u.
