  1. Well, its perfectly feasible that KRISHNA DEVOTEES (NOT Hare Krishnas) would be at LAX in the 80s...

That is a good point, and I admit I had not thought of it in that light... nonetheless, I find the manner in which it was initially suggested to be offensive... a kind of "let's try to enlighten her without her realising" tactic, if you will.

Do not tell one 'must', inform one of the option and encourage. Never order - the imperative scares, the suggestion entices.
  4. Please could you elaborate, I am unsure of the meaning or context, but am most interested.
  5. True, it has been a most interesting debate.

Yes, love the baby too, but an unwanted baby being born will hurt both the baby and the mother, and possibly external parties also. This is not a good thing. My point against fanaticism in particular was BruzWayne telling the woman she MUST chant, and that she WILL receive advice from Krsna. This is not accurate, possibly in the long term she WILL receive advice from Krsna, but there is very little guarantee it will happen in the maximum 9 month time span.

My point indeed is to stop being fanatics, as the responses to this dilemma have shown an increasing number of devotees to be... fanaticism hinders the spreading of the mahamantra. And I wholeheartedly believe it is immoral to not inform the woman of the principles of prasadam if one is to feed it to her... this does not further the spreading of KC and is a form of demonic trickery in essence. Please, do not be fanatics. Be peaceful, helpful, and loving to all - yes to the unborn baby in the womb, but respect the woman's opinion... love Krsna, and love everything under him. Hare Krsna

Or you could let her make her own decision. Yes, it is the duty of a Krishna Conscious person to spread the consciousness to others, but dogged indoctrination attempts are no way to show the love of Krsna... this is not the way, my friends. Offer your opinion to this woman, but do so not on the grounds of a faith she does not share... this is illogical in the extreme and hurtful to this woman who I assume is your friend... if she is not then what right do you have to say these things to her anyway. BruzWayne, your blind intolerance and ill-informed arrogant opinions have dogged this forum for a while now, but this tops it: "you tell to the pregnant woman that she MUST chant" - this is wrong! Do not order others to chant the Lord's names against their will... in what way is this possibly spreading the love of Krsna to all? This is spreading a falsehood... offer her some literature if you will, and only then if she will willingly and eagerly accept it. And BruzWayne, do not make such arrogant assumptions as to guarantee that this poor woman will receive Krsna's solution... you cannot guarantee this and in this age of kali yuga, when good and devoted men and women strive to achieve contact with the Lord and fall short, how can you tell this non-devotee categorically that she will receive Krsna's solution? And Sunanda, surely it is not right to try and 'con' this woman into participating in this faith by not explaining the prasada you offer to her? And what good is no guilt on your own conscience if the woman is left for the worse? This reeks to me of selfish concern, and not compassion that should live at the heart of Krsna Consciousness. You, sirs, are spreading a falsehood, and I urge you most strongly to reconsider your faith.
  9. Allah is essentially a title Krsna holds... Caitanya is essentially the supreme incarnation of Krsna in this material world... So Krsna holds the title Allah in a similar analogous manner to which Bush Jr holds the title of President of the USA. Krsna manifested on Gaia most recently in the form of Caitanya... so essentially, Caitanya and Allah are not exactly the same entity, although they both relate to Krsna.

Yes, I am in agreement, and am most keen to learn where BruzWayne came by this knowledge.
  11. Hare Krsna "but chanting of allah, for instance, will not lead directly to vaikuntha in this birth...as far as i understand it leads to heaven, as mohammed puts it, and then from there it may lead to vaikuntha... chanting the names of krishna or incarnations of visnu leads to liberation... that's why all those buddhists who don't believe in god will still reach liberation if they are thinking of Lord Buddha when they die! Ironically, if u are not a very good Buddhist, i.e. you cannot concentrate on 'the void', you have a higher chance of liberation! I think those who think of Buddha still don't reach Vaikuntha, cos they do not think of him as God...probably impersonal realisation... " --- While I do not wish to enter into a conflict, friend, I must disagree with you. You say that Allah is not Krsna - this is not true in my opinion, and neither in the opinion of Srila Prabhupada, who stated on a number of occassions that "there are many names for God. You call Him God, another man calls Him Allah. I call Him Krsna". Do you see? You also state that a "not very good Buddhist" stands a better chance of reaching enlightenment - I disagree. While of course the Buddhist's central belief, especially regarding the afterlife from this material body, is somewhat different to a Krsna Conscious man, nonetheless Buddhists seek an enlightenment of their own, and I believe a good Buddhist can reach enlightenment easier than a "not very good Buddhist". My thanks.
  12. Perhaps he did, but why didn't he say so to begin with? This is not an issue to spend time on, distracting us from moving ever closer to Lord Krsna.

    Women

--All we know is that lust tendencies are 9 times higher for women than men. Where, BruzWayne, do you draw this knowledge from? Hare Krishna.
  14. hare Krishna, I have examined the reports of this, and as far as I can perceive, this is in no way related to Lord Krishna.
  15. "if one would chant 'Christ' it would lead to some form of spiritual enlightenment, but not to the ultimate..." Truly, for Christ is not God/Krsna. Of course, God is Krsna, and so while the name Krsna is the name chanted by the Krsna Consciousness Movement, religionists who chant any other of God's recognised names can too reach enlightenment.
