Hi Tony,
My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer (non-small cell) in September 2005, and she went through 6 rounds of chemo, and was stable for 2 years. Then one of her tumors grew back
so she had a laser surgery to "burn" the tumor (as I understand, this type of surgery is only available in China, where she lives), and was put on Tarceva since. About 6 months ago, another tumor started growing larger in size, and we did a PET scan, no tumor is found in the rest of her body so far. So the doctor put her on a low-dose chemo plus the drug that controls the blood vessel growth of the cancer cells (which I don't know the name of, sorry). But the scan 4 weeks later show no effects, the tumor actually got bigger, the doctor seemed to be very surprised and said that this combination works on most patients similar to her case. His advice is to go back on Tarceva for 4 more weeks and see how the tumor progress, and he said they could do another laser surgery if there are no small tumors appear else where, because the surgery cannot used to remove tumors under a certain size.
I am interested to see if the Rose-Laurel OPC plus would be beneficial for my mother's case, and if she can take it while taking Tarceva at the same time. Would that increase her side-effects, which she is coping considerably well. And what other type of supplement would be recommended for her? or what other treatment protocol would you recommend?
Thank you so much for your help in this.
