I have a number of questions about the significance of the coconut in Puja and in Padapuja?
What does the coconut signify in the ceremonies?
Sometimes the coconut has split/cracked with a sound on its own, after I have offered it -- what does this mean? Can it still be eaten as prasad?
Why is the coconut cracked open at Temple and offered, and sometimes it isn't cracked open?
Also, what does it mean to carry the coconut, or plate of roses/lotus in Padapuja?
Please explain the intent of Padapuja.
what does it means when the Guru disperses all the flowers in that plate, leaving it empty?(during Padapuja?)
what does it mean when you extend your hand in greeting someone and they clasp your hand between both of their hands and bow?
I have gotten and heard various answers to the above but I would like authorative clarication.
I am a westerner so the more informarion the better for me.
I have just gotten the term auspicious a lot:)
