Richard S 'Rick' Brown was the singer, harmonica player and co-song writer of The Misunderstood, a rock music group originating from California who were influential in London, England during the mid-sixties. In 1967 Brown was initiated as Hrisikesh das by Srila Bhakti Vedanta Swami Prabhupada and lived in Asia for 12 years. Brown later graduated as a Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America in 1983. His book, Ancient Astrological Gemstones & Talismans, received the 1996 Benjamin Franklin Award from the PMA. Brown is currently a jewelry designer in Bangkok, Thailand, where he founded Astral Gemstone Talismans and the Planetary Gemologists Association. He is also a Wikipedian and Uncyclopedian.
