I love this beverage and this is how I make it.

Prepare tea as you normally would by simmering or steeping tea in hot almost boiling water. (Decafinated tea ect)

in a pan add 1/16th tsp (add more or less to taste) of Chai Masala per cup, and steep for 5-15 min covered.

Before serving add addequate sugar and milk or half/half, non-dairy creamer. Serve warm.

It has been my observation that cramping is more prevelent after eating allot of salty foods, and when potasium in the body is low.

If you take a potasium supplement daily, for a while it should help resolve the issue.

I have head of this before, It is probably more common in India, if you are able to refine your spirit energy (more than we do now) you would not need to eat.

The only way to correct arthritus is by stimulating the digestion and proper detox. If you have cold natured arthritus then I recommend taking Trikatu and Triphala. For severe problems you can add Turmeric capsules (taken w/ meals) I also have other supplements which effectively remove cold natured arthritus.

Does anyone know if taking allopathic drugs during this would prevent it from working?

Specifically benadryl (as I have allergies) I may not be able to go off the Benadryl very quickly.

Mustard seed oil is used topically for arthritus (Non-Pitta dosha agrivated type) and also as a body massage oil for Kapha and Vata dosha types.

It is also used to cure Swas Roga (Asthma)

Mixed equal parts Mustard oil and jaggary (raw sugar) and make into pills for this condition.
