Tried to find some quotes with "Pankaja" but found some other "lotus" quotes with words like Kamala and Nalina... anyway, please enjoy them, still it is the same meaning as your name /images/graemlins/smile.gif
------------------
Kamala Kucha Choochuka Kumkumato

Kamalayatha Lochana Loka Pathe

O wide, lotus-eyed Lord of the three worlds
May you always be victorious, Lord of Venkata hill!

It doesn't mean to say they are disregarded but this is the nature of disicplic succession.
-----------
Saying that she is not part of Gaudiya parampara, and that he would not like his devotees following her example, that is a different story altogether, and perfectly acceptable from my perspective.
It would be nice if the comment ("Gaudiya Math eliminates Mirabhai... from the category of real devotees ") had included something like "as far as real devotees that express the Gaudiya ideal..." or "For those who consider themselves disciples in the Gaudiya tradition, this is not acceptable." Perspective does make a difference.
(Otherwise it kind of sounds like, "Oh such-and-such was not a real devotee, so you can say whatever you want about her. She loved God, but anyway you don't have to respect her because this verse in Adi Purana says you have to serve the devotees, and we think she did not serve the devotees.")
-
You have got a very beautiful name. Whenever you hear someone calling your name, you can remember Krishna's lotus feet, lotus eyes, etc. etc... /images/graemlins/smile.gif
-
Therefore, Gaudiya Math eliminates Mirabhai and so many
other apparently great devotees from the category of real devotees,
because, although they are mad in praise of Krsna, they have little
regard for the for the real devotees of Krishna .
-----
Please Pankaja dasji, do not take this the wrong way, but when you "eliminate" devotees from being "actual devotees," I am not sure if that would be pleasant for Krishna. I mean, classifying a devotee as being not a devotee, does that constitute service?
Just think about it. Don't get angry please, but just think about it...
Not meaning to offend, but merely to defend who I consider as a great devotee... but anyway if you don't accept her that's okay. Few accepted her in her day as well. However, to insinuate that Krishna also did not accept her, is intolerable for me.
I think when Meera sang "Mere to Giridhara Gopala, dusaro na koi!" she served generations upon generations of devotees, because whenever we hear her words, we remember that Krishna is our only shelter in this world.
I feel she has served beyond what most of us will ever accomplish, with her divine gift of music, and therefore I worship her lotus feet.
And remember, by serving Krishna, we serve everyone. Especially the devotees. If Krishna sees you serving a devotee, He will be more pleased than if you served Him. Similarly, if you serve Krishna, the devotees will be more pleased than if you serve them. And thus the joy of both is tied together...

Yes, Lakshmi is Vishnupriya. Bhudevi is also Vishnupriya. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

It's easy to be attracted to Krishna... Krishna is all-attractive you know... He is virtuous, playful, heroic... He is handsome... stylish (thought of wearing earrings before David Bowie or any of those other guys decided it was cool /images/graemlins/wink.gif Long black hair... and besides that He is god, He is living forever in your heart, He is the only person through your many births that remembers you through ALL of them, that is always with you through all your existence.
So how can Radha not love Him?

Is this one of the reasons why cows are special??
----------------
I believe she came out at the time of the churning of ksheerasaagara (kurmavataram). She is kamadhenu... she fulfills all wishes, like the Parijata. Ghee from her milk was to be used for offering into the fire... she is the mother of all cows.
if there are any errors in this, please correct me.

-
The International Phonetic Alphabet used by Linguists all around the world, is based on Sanskrit.
-
Why, I do believe that is Kamadhenu!

So many commecials are for anti-depressants too.

Are you talking about Seeta Rama Kalyanam- Telugu film with NT Rama Rao who makes an excellent Ravana (whereas usually He plays God... He's the best Krishna ever!)

Sorry, my memory is not so good /images/graemlins/smile.gif I changed prev. post so as not to confuse anybody. Anyway, the point is the SAME...

Hello Vishnupriya. Are you named after Gauraanga's Vishnupriya?
-
both bhagavata and bhagavata purana are very sacred, and should be treated with utmost love and care /images/graemlins/smile.gif

#2 That you shouldn't speculate on what the Mantra means.
--- Prabhupada says there is no NEED to know what it means, not that we shouldn't ever find out!!
We know the literal meaning of the words. No need to speculate.
Hare = hari (name of the Lord) meaning theif (as in theif of love or of mind)
Krishna = the Lord (meaning dark and attractive)
Rama = the Lord (meaning fully pleasing)
BUT the point here was that the SOUND of the words is the important, transcendant aspect, and that simply by chanting the Lord's names, without even knowing they are the Lord's names, one will benefit.

I'm not from Tamil nadu but I am a devotee of Venkateshwaraswamy and I have read much of Sri Vaishnava writings, writings of Andal and other azhwars...
I do have a picture of Sri Ranganatha somewhere... please give me some time to find it and I will post it here /images/graemlins/smile.gif

There is a Telugu song on Venkateshwara that says that Alamelumanga (Padmavati)'s eyes are red because Her spear-like gaze pierced Govinda so deeply as to draw blood, but was suddenly drawn away, and thus the corners of Her eyes are red.

Here is Lord Sri Hari with the three saktis, Sri, Bhu and Nila devis. Nappinnai is the equivalent of Radha in Tamil literature, and is considered to be an incarntion of Nila or Lila sakti...
I believe the Lord can be seen with all three thayars only in the temple at Tiruchcherai (murthys pictured here).\

if you like to offer butter for Him to eat, please offer like you offer any other food to Krishna. Most simple way is to put it on the altar before His statue or picture and if you don't know sanskrit, yeah just chant His names or even you can just simply say "Please enjoy, Bhagavan!"
Then afterwards you can partake of the remnants as prasad.
Krishna likes me very much

Nothing about lotus here, but anyway about Krishna's beauty, which is similarly captivating

May the resplendent blue jyoti of Gopala reminding one of an incomparable blue gem stone (indranIla or blue sapphire), with blue peacock feather decorations on His dark black hair and the divine flute on His lips appear before me during the last moments of my life on this earth.
