  1. that you were not wanted here anymore? I will tell you a story of a devotee (a non Hindu one) who was forbidden entry into the famous Jagannatha temple of Puri. What could he do, he had to pray for his mother, who was on the death-bed? He remained outside the temple and prayed for 40 days and the Jagannatha's mercy descended on him, his mother became hale and hearty. In the end, he expressed his devotion in the now-famous poems dedicated to Lord Jagannatha. The point to emphasize is, though, the priests did not want him, but God wanted him there. So you see, you should care for Krishna not for what others say or think about you.

  2. somewhere. But, the third and bonafide incarnation of Prahlad Maharaj was Shri Raghavendra Swami of Mantralayam (in Andhra Pradesh now). When Shri Raghavendra Swami wanted to wind up his work on the earth, he asked one of his followers to construct a Vrindavanam for him to enter into it for Samadhi. When the follower brought some stones, Shri Swamiji did not approve of them and asked the follower to accompany him. Upon reaching a solitary place (still in AP ) he asked the follower to dig the place. After digging, they found a YagnaVedi there. Pointing towards that, Shri Swamiji told the follower, that during his incarnation as Prahlad Mahara, he had performed a big sacrifice there and those stones only should be selected for constructing Vrindavanam. So Prahlad Maharaj must be somewhere from AP.

  3. holy mantra. As someone has said previously, all these are nothing but the bad Karma done by you in your earlier births. You cannot escape your Karma, at the same time, you can use your free-will to chant the holy mantra and cross the ocean of life. Most of us have more or less similar, if not the same, troubles in one way or the other.

  4. at all. These bad thoughts are called as Vikalpa and they rise more and more in your mind, because now you have started to cut their roots by using the Harinam, a powerful weapon. When hot water is poured into the anthills, snakes come out! similarly, when you chant the holy name, these horrible Vikalpa's come out to disturb you, so that you would stop chanting, and they would live in your mind forever! Don't get disturbed at all, God will not mistake you at all. Continue chanting and you will notice that, gradually, these thoughts would vanish and would not come again.

  5. to decide everything about our lives, would we not be in heavens? Your life partner has been selected by Lord Krishna already, it is just the time that is not matching. Once the correct time comes, the person (whether or not he/she is devotee) would enter into matrimony with you. That's it. No questions asked. We can only express our desire to marry another devotee, but can't be sure of getting married to one. The important question is, where are the purest devotees these days? Who is doing Nishkam devotion to the Lord?

  6. God knows what is best for a Sadhaka, so He would give only that and not that which Sadhaka desires. Most of the times, our desires emanate from selfish motive and a wrong perception of the happenings in life. He being the purest knows what is right and what is wrong. Just because one desire is not completed, one should not blame God for that. In fact, one should pray Him to become desireless.

  7. in remaining a bachelor (Brahmachari) for purely spiritual reasons and if you have developed Vairagya (detachment towards worldly relations), then nobody can force you into a marriage neither you would be hurting others feelings. Afterall, spiritual progress is everybody's prime aim in life and not to fret away the precious human life for worldly pleasures. It would not accrue any sin.

Since Andal's parents were not known, people have claimed her to be Rukmini (I read somewhere that she was the incarnation of Bhudevi), but I feel, she must be a Jivatma, truly, devoted to the Lord. So chart your course of devotion as you are doing right now without any doubts. Baddha, Mumukshu, Sadhaka and Jeevanmukta these are the only four groups in which all the humans fall. As you go up (in that order), the doubts vanish and only devotion remains. If your desire is very strong and devotion pure, who knows, you might be born as another Meerabai in your next birth.

  8. Why people around you think that you have gone mad? But let them think so, you be happy in your chanting. The results would be soon there for you to feel. Spiritual aspirants get many transcendental experiences as they progress on the path of spiritualism. Like, getting fragrance when others do not get a tinge of it, getting the vision of brilliant lights, seeing the Lord all over, listening the Nada of Anahat. You might start getting some Siddhis too. These are only the landmarks and not the final stop!!!

  9. Madhurya Bhava is very difficult to achieve as the body-consciousness is a big hurdle in between. That apart, a famous Maharashtrian saint-poet declared that, unless the mind is pristine pure, and completely purged of sexual feelings, Madhurya Bhava bhakti is a mere dream. That is why we have only two such famous characters, one Andal and the other Meerabai.

  10. rememer to do that. The name "God" creates some kind of fear among common folks. Apart from that, we do not have true devotion to Lord Krishna like saint Mirabai, who when offered Prasada of meat which was ritualistically offered to Goddess Durga (or Shakti), refused to partake it.

  11. will not appeal to most of the ordinary people like you and me. Simply because, our body-consciousness supercedes everything. We are used identify everything (that is visible) with its typical shape, size, colour etc. We cannot perceive the Nirguna God so fast!!! The way to Nirguna God is Saguna Bhakti. Where Saguna Bhakti ends, Nirguna begins. So for a true and pure devotee there is no real cause to worry. There is no need to comment adversely on ISKCON people, as they are engaged in doing devotional service through Saguna Bhakti. Let me tell you, Nirguna Bhakti is not everyone's cup of tea!!!
