  1. In this Ratha Yatra I met my friend from Mayapur (remember the one that had to jump in the Jalangi running away from a mob?). He got the coolest tatoo! Full back Nrisimhadeva. We took photos of it. He got another one on his chest, really thick. I bet that was painful.

One gurukuli girl has this tatoo around her shoulder and half of her upper back of Lord Krsna playing the flute. I'm not a tattoo person but that is really beautiful! The colors and expression are really amazing.

In that time she was afraid that she was going to be kick out of her position. I always wondered why, because she lives independent of the temple and as far as I know she doesn't get money from the institution. Makes me think that what randOM says is true, she wanted to remain to continue with her agenda of minimizing Prabhupada.

  3. I just saw a part of the Hindi movie 'Lajja'. I was shocked in the audacity of the director and producer of having "Sita" talking so badly to "Rama".

Even if they did it as part of the drama, they are sending the wrong message to the children and people in general. Not even as a joke they should put that kind of dialogue coming from Sita's mouth. I wonder if the Muslims would tolerate anything like that against their beliefs?

I would like to know the Indian reaction to the movie? Maybe Animeshji can comment on it?

  4. What about saffron pudding made out of caramel from condensed milk? Just boil it half of the normal time and add the saffron. No need of adding sugar to that. Less calories Posted Image

For tomorrow's batch just boil everything only 10 minutes and I think you'll have the right consistensy.

I have to go, they started serving prasada. Today is Sunday feast. That subji full of cheese is waiting for me. Posted Image

  5. You won't be able to blame the detergent anymore for your tight clothes. Continue eating all that cream, whole milk and sugar and your waistline will expand beyond measure. I guess that you'll have to walk an awful lot to burn the fatty calories. Good luck Posted Image

BTW, you can roast a little bit the saffron before you put the milk. All the color comes out. Just be careful because burn very easily.

  6. Once in Mayapur when Prabhupada was there (76 or 77?), a Mexican devotee called Pippalai caught Bhavananda having sex with one of the workers from the Goshalla. Pippalai ran towards the temple to tell Prabhupada with Bhav. following him. Some sannyasis (very sure was Tamal) didn't allowed Pippalai to talk to Prabhupada. Bhavananda told Prabhupada that he had a mental desire that actually nothing happened. Prabhupada sent Bhavananda to preach in the boat 'Nitai Pada Kamala" and to follow strict chaturmasya, eating only once a day to atone for his sinful desires. Bhavananda followed strictly. Pippalai was sent to another temple. This I got it from a devotee that saw Pippalai running towards the temple and he told him what actually happened. This devotee went with Bhav in the boat for 4 months and saw how serious in his vow he was.

We also know that Prabhupada told the gay disciples to married women. Sudama, Bhavananda, Hayagriva,Upendra, etc, were at one point married. They did lot of preaching and Srila Prabhupada apreciated their service but we can't say that Prabhupada allowed homosexualism. If Prabhupada told Upendra to get a boy and settle down how come he married and got 2 kids with his wife?

Upset me a lot that some people say that Srila Prabhupada was fallible and that he did mistakes. Maha aparadha to just cover up our material desires.

By the way, our Honolulu Ratha-yatra this year will be held on September 15th. Haribol!

Right, atma is my name here, it all started with a joke and I continue with the name but that is not my real name. I don't think you'll remember me because I was there for a couple of months but it was a great experience. The restaurant just opened and we ate great. Radhanath was temple president. Sometimes I used to go with Vicitra Vasini out in sankirtan. Devotees were few but nice. We celebrated Janmastami there and they had a nice play about Damodara. My 3 years old girl was Krishna in the play. At that time I had my 6 months old baby with me and I remember you always watching her when she was trying to crawl.

Very nice memories of Hawaii. It was a good break from India for a couple of months.

    BTW, the name is Gauri.

  10. I know that there is a reference in the Srimad Bhagavatam about the dancing transgenders because when I had my baby, I was peacefully feeding her in my bedroom when all of the sudden all this men? dressed in sarees, bangles, long hair, etc. bursted in the room, dancing and singing. I got the shock of my life, they scared me to death because it was so unexpected. I didn't even hear the doorbell ringing. At that time I used to have like 6 men working in the house making the outfits for the deities and one of them opened the door for the Hijras (I'm very sure that is the Hindi for them). They made me so angry because they caught me by surprise and they looked really big and scary and I was very vulnerable feeding on bed my newborn. I threw them out and I ordered some of the workers to send them away. The workers didn't listen because they were afraid of the courses of the Hijras. The Hijras swore at me left and right. The kind of language that they used was really bad. They were demanding hundreds of rupees and silk sarees for their blessing for the baby.

After that incident, a friend of mine sent me a quote from the Bhagavatam where it said how auspicious the Hijras are and how the grihasthas should give charity to them in auspicious ocassions. I can't remember the Canto in the Bhagavatam.

I don't think that in Kali yuga that apply too much because the Hijras that I saw in India innumerable times were really low class and I really mean it. They were nothing like Arjuna. I really think that low class behaviour from many of the homosexuals make the people reject them. Again I'll repeat that I have gay devotee friends that I love dearly and they are doing wonderful service for different temples but they are the minority.

My impression was that they were accepted without any problem in the vaisnava society but if Amara felt necesary to write something about it maybe is because he felt the discrimination. Still, I don't agree with GALVA.

Eat a large breakfast, a moderate lunch, and a small dinner. In the past I really had it reversed. But if you eat a large dinner then you go to sleep fairly soon afterwards. Not only are you less active (and thus more likely to put on weight) but it is often harder to sleep because your system is working all night.

This is more or less just a gradual process to lose weight.

Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. BTW, if you finally get your saffron pudding it won't help in your weight loss program Posted Image

I also heard that Srila Prabhupada said: feed a cold and starve a fever.
