  1. He he... I can see both of you tired prabhus laying on the grass looking up to the sky at the approaching asteroid and yelling at the top of your lungs: Bullseye!!! It looks like a giant Salagrama Sila coming to eat me!!! ;-) ...but seriously folks: no such event is forecasted by the Vedas for our times... just the advent of a new Golden Age :-)
  2. Tripurari Maharaja is a very nice Vaishnava. I mean it from the bottom of my heart. He is very mature, with deep understanding of our tradition and has genuine compassion for all. I have been in our Movement since 1979 and can say with sincerity that I have met very few devotees of his caliber. The light of our Sampradaya clearly shines through him. Hare Krishna!
  3. are you sure they are not just trying to emigrate to Israel? ;-) ..they are so used to living on a reservation... but seriously folks: I doubt that very much. there was not enough time to change their language to such an extent.
  4. We need to judge people not by the colour of their skin but by their behaviour or culture. Arya means "noble" and refers to both race and culture. The Vedas teach to accept people by their quality. That is true for their varna (character) as well as culture. There is plenty of "white trash" out there and no sane person should consider them to be Aryan in any way. In Vedic times there were SEVERAL WHITE RACES mentioned in the scriptures, but they were not all considered Aryan or noble. "Aryan" is the essence of goodness in the social sense of humanity. Food for thought.
  5. I also fail to see any signs of war... just a debate. It is very Vedic to have healthy open debates, provided both sides are honest and have pure intentions. However, I mostly try to open up the eyes of people who do not know God at all. I dont go to Christian sites to "enlighten" them about Vedic wisdom. People who do things like that are usually just neophytes in their own tradition, proud to be "on the right track" ;-)

  7. "This is the message of the Bible: that God graciously provided the gift of salvation through one supreme self-sacrifice in the person of the Lord Jesus" That is the message of Lord Jesus and I will leave it like that. As to the Bible vs. Vedas argument: you do not leave a challenge unanswered when it comes to you uninvited. It is bogus to claim all world's scriptures are equal. Such distinction apply even to Vedic texts. Tolerance is one thing, but false religious claims should be checked.

  9. "The remarkable number of fulfilled prophecies in the Bible testify to its reliability" Name a few for me... Face it: Bible is a very local scripture, with no concept of the world outside Middle East. Contrast that with the Vedas which talk in terms of planetary systems, multiple Universes and multiple time-space continuums within our Universe. There is plenty of archeological evidence supporting the accuracy of Egyptian writings as well, much more so than with respect to the Biblical writings, but you do not seem to be very excited about that. I will give you one example as to objective corroboration of the Vedas. Photos from space show the remains of stone bridge built by Ramacandra to reach the island of Lanka (Ceylon). And that happened over 2 millions years ago...

  11. "I maintain that we should accept the Bible over other religious books because no book can amass the evidence for supernatural origin that the Bible can" LOL! First: you should study the history of the Biblical writings very closely. If you do, you will find a lot of "natural" (as opposed to "divine") editing, cannonizing etc. Second: you should compare the Biblical writings to Vedic texts, such as Bhagavad Geeta, Vedanta, Vishnu Purana or Srimad Bhagavatam. If you do you will see that Biblical texts are composed by and for very simple people. Simple in their spiritual growth, philosophical capability and every day culture. I like your faith in the Bible but do not speak of things you know very little about. Millions of lives were wiped out by ignorant and selfish people holding a Bible in one hand and a weapon in the other. That is a Biblical legacy as well... read in the Old Testament of tribes wiped out by Jews claiming the "divine" right to do so... that is how it all started!

  13. In a nutshell, demons are all living entities working against God and His devotees. Some evil spirits are called demons, and such name is also given to evil people like Stalin or Hitler. And we may have our own "demons" such as gambling or drug addiction. But all these DO exist! Sometimes at night we are approached by a ghost that wants a joy ride in our body, and sometimes we just have a bad dream. In either case use the Holy Name to chase the ghost away or come out of the bad dream. It is very effective. At one time we lived in a house so ridden with ghosts it was near impossible to sleep well without a strong light in the room. All of us had the same problems, so it was not just a case of a bad dream... Always remember the Holy Name... :-)

  15. I'm going to repeat myself: "Demons use material religious sentiments to control the masses..." ...and they will stop at nothing in their pursuit

  17. In many prominent families in the past and present there are also much less wholesome influences: Rakshasa and other demonic beings who bred with humans, sometimes specifically in order to gain control over human affairs
  18. My post was not directed towards you in particular stonehearted prabhuji. I'm sorry if it came out that way and it was not meant to be critical in general. I have also seen devotees consumed by various conspiracy theories (including those pertaining to our own society) and lose sight of the important stuff, like our mission or their own spiritual progress.
  19. The past is gone and some questions may never be resolved, even if they seem to be relevant to our current situation. However, what is most relevant today is the need to reestablish a true Aryan society based not on "noble race" but on NOBLE CULTURE... that was the second part of Srila Prabhupada's mission. It is impossible to imagine the predicted (however limited) comeback of the Golden Age without recreation of such noble culture and society...

  21. Demons use material religious sentiments to control the masses - do not get dragged to this level. What is a meanining of such "proof", and what does it really prove? ...that there is a some truth to Old Testament accounts? Do not waste time on such primitive concepts of spirituality, especially since you have obviously tasted the Vedic nectar...

  23. There are many groups of people (both secret and open) seeking to control this world, often using very devious methods. Most of those who truly control such groups are in fact demonic in nature. While devotees should not be overly concerned about influence of such people (since Lord Krishna is the real controller) we should also not be a blind tool in their hands... ...we should preach the glories of the Holy Name and the benefits of a true Aryan society... the only way to really make a difference in the world
