  1. The souls in the material world are infinite. According to mathematics, 0.01% of infinity is also infinity. So if a finite number of souls go back to Godhead, you will need infinite years for all the souls to be liberated. Even if you were to say that infinite souls are liberated still you cannot say that the material worlds will be empty because infinity minus infinity is indeterminate. The answer is not zero you see! Vrindavan dharma ki jaya!!!
  2. As Prita'a points out moving into a temple can be tricky and one needs to take some precautions. Personally I have not yet succeded to move into the temple but I see that the real problem is me. I still have my vision of how I will like to see a temple run,how devotees should behave etc. In short I am not fully surrendered to Krishna and therefore misgivings are there. One of the six items of surrender is that one should be convinced that only Krishna can give protection and that he will do so. Another thing to understand is that nothing happens without Krishna's sanction. If we understand this we can move into any temple and eventually everything will be all right. In the beginning Krishna will test you with some devotees really "disturbing" but if you persevere then everything will work out beautifully. Inspite the fact that many devotees left I think that those who fully trusted guru and Krishna remained and happily too. I know some of them. How can Krishna not keep His promise made to those who surrender to Him? So I think that if you fully trust in Krishna He will take charge and everything will be ok.So the only problem I see with devotees or anyone else having problems ANYWHERE is their degree of surrender. Krishna is always in control. Do we accept it? That is the question!
  3. Great realisation. For me the experience is the other way round. My big ego and stubborness could not permit me to join any movement without causing trouble. So I have been studying BG,SB and other books coming to me by the mercy of those who are there in ISKCON and I am grateful to them for giving me this opportunity. When I become more mature ,more equipoised I will join the temple and hopely try to pay a bit of the infinite debt I owe those "crazy devotees". Vrindavan dharm ki jaya!!!!
  4. However, if devotees in their 50s can marry to help each other advance in Krishna consciousness, why should you criticize anyone who's willing to treat similarly committed gay or lesbian couples with similar respect? If making such commitment and accepting the concomitant responsiblities helps these people gradually control their senses and they ultimately become celibate, foolow all the principles and chant the requisite number of rounds, doesn't the result justify such an adjustment? Is it that the scriptures forbid marriage at 50? *Is illicit sex between opposite sexes as bad as homosexual sex? Can we authoritatively say that they are the same? BG says faults in ones occupational duty are not on the same footing as faults committed in an illegal ashram, right?
  5. The main theme of the Bahais(at least in public) is about world peace and eventually a world government probably growing from the united Nations but working according to Bahai principles. They talk of establishing first the small peace where Nations no longer fight each other and the greater peace where peace will reign in the heart of all people. Spiritually it is not so clear. Perfection can not be attained except in infinite time. God cannot be known except through his manifestations like Jesus, Krishna,Moses and foremost Bahaullah who is the latest manifestation. All scriptures talk about the advent of Bahaullah. They also talk about progressive revelation or religion of the age and for now the Bahai religion is the only valid one. All others are out dated. Their knowledge of the soul is very confused just as in Islam from which they seem to have grown. Abdul Baha says the soul is neither in the body or outside. It is free from egress and regress he says. Me and my Bahai friends often laugh a lot about it. The mystical writings of Bahaullah are like sufism. They are pretty close to Islam in principles. Virndavan dharma ki jaya!!!!
  6. I think all the people on this forum agree Srila Prabhupada(the guru of Tripurari) does not approve of his Gita. That is all Dhanavir Goswami is saying. Is it wrong repeating guru's instructions or reminding godbrothers of those instructions. In tripurari swami's introduction to his Bhagavad Gita he does imply that it is an improvement over Prabhupada's version. When he was osked in one of his question and answer postings on Swami.org to recommend a version of Bhagavad-Gita, he did not hesitate to recommend his on. You decide what you think the swami thinks of Srila Prabhupada's position relative to his own. I would like to know whom he refers to as kanistha and Madhyama devotees in hie address to ISKCON during His guru's vysapuja offering. For me I have no doubts. Vrindavan dharm ki jaya!!!
  7. Chanting 64 rounds a day is certainly great and even recommended by Srila Prabhupada himself. So is the chanting of 192 rounds. The only problem is that the advocates of the 64 rounds are "subtling" suggesting that those who chant the minimum of 16 rounds a day as recommended by Srila Prabhupada may never get perfection. If that is the case they should expect the same attitude from those who are chanting more than 64 rounds a day.For me I think that those who chant 16 rounds per day and are at the same time following Srila Prabhupada will certainly quickly achieve perfection by his(Srila Prabhupada) mercy. This 64 rounds crusade albeit not wrong has been heard as a criticism of Srila Prabhupada's followers from the Gaudiya math especially ISKCON deserters who are there. I have heard it from them directly. By the mercy of Srila Prabhupada 16 rounds have the effect of 64 rounds. I think that those who follow him and chant more 16 rounds should be considerd to be chanting more than 64 rounds if there were out of ISKCON. Srila Prabhupada did not give us a losing formula. Vrindavan dharma ki Jaya
  8. I have read the different arguments put forward by the different greatly learned prabhus with great admiration and interest and I would like to ask the' following questions; 1 Tripurari Maharaja talks of srila Prabhupada's eternal RELATIONSHIP TO Radha and and Krishna as a gopa. Do gopas have and eternal rasa with Radha? If so what types of gopas are they?. 2 From the arguments of those who say Sridhar Maharaja knew the he rasa Of Srila Prabhupada, I do not see any evidence of that in their arguments. When I analyse the arguments presented by them purported to have been altered by Sridhara Maharaja, I see no certainty in them. In Sridhar Maharaja's words it is a conjecture born of deductive reasoning on Srila Prabhupada's poem and some of his activities. It is not as a result "seeing" or in other words spiritual vision. An exemple of a spiritual vision is like that of Syamananda Prabhu and his illustrious disciple Rasikananda Prabhu. It is said that once Rasikananda Prabhu went to Govardhana and had vision of Lord Krishna. When he later on met Syamananda Prabhu, he(Syamananda) described to him that very vision. Similarly in the Puranas we hear of many people who could "see" like that.To me it is this type of "seer" who can say whether Srila Prabhupad is a gopa,a gopi or both. I do not think speculations, deductions or concensuses can conclusively convince anyone except the greatest OF fanatics about the real spiritual identity of Srila Prabhupada. My question is; Do WE HAVE ANY PERSONS WHO CAN SEE THESE THINGS?
