  1. Namaste, As far as Hanuman goes, there have been reports from time to time of people running into Him. He is, afterall, immortal. Regards, ganesh_guy
  2. Mikey, As far as my personal opinion, yes, I do believe these events took place. The Mahabharata, Ramayana and the Puranas all contain various stories of our Gods and Goddesses. As far as archaelogical evidence, if there is any, I don't know about it. Quite frankly, to me it doesn't matter. I may sound ignorant or other such words, but again, it doesn't matter. I believe what I believe and in Hinduism that is tolerated. Any one else's opinions? Regards, ganesh_guy
  3. Namaste all, I too hold the belief that it was Guatam Buddha that was the Avatar of Lord Vishnu. I have small, condensed versions of the Puranas. I can't afford the expensive ones that are in three or more volumes. In my copy of the Bhagavata Purana, it does say Guatam Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, was the afore mentioned Avatar. The only question I have is this; is the Rishaba mentioned in the Avatar list the same Rishaba as the Jain Tirthankar by the same name? Thanks. Regards, ganesh_guy
  4. Namaste Sri RadheyRadhey, Thank you for answering my question. How come I got answers that it is not part of Hinduism? The person I asked was also a Gaudiya. Can one become a Gaudiya Vaishnava if he has no access to other Gaudiya's (such as guru, temple etc.)? I am just a Hindu. I don't ascribe to any specific sect. But I am interested in Gaudiya Vaishnavism. Thanks again, Regards, ganesh_guy
  5. Namaste all, I hope you can all please forgive my ignorance. Is Gaudiya Vaishnavism a part of Hinduism, or not? I have been told it is, and I have been told it isn't. Thanks for any help! Regards, ganesh_guy
  6. Namaste Nabooru, I myself was on a spiritual quest since I was 15. I'm now 24, but I have been Hindu for around 3-4 years now. I know I am definitley home. If there is a Hindu temple nearby, make an appointment with the priest or someone there and talk about things. I would also recommend a book called "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Hinduism" if you don't already have it. I was confused about a lot of things before I read that book. There is no ritual required to enter Hinduism. Some say you have to change your name, some say this, some say that. But in reality there are no such requirements. Others may disagree with me, but this has been my experience. Just keep gaining knowledge of Sanatana Dharma and if it is for you, then it is for you. I wish you the best of luck, may God guide you. Regards, ganesh_guy
  7. Namaste, Thank you both for your responses. Stonehearted, I didn't even think of think of that, thanks. Regards, Justin
  8. Namaste all, I cannot keep a Tulsi plant on my property for a few reasons. Is it okay to worship a Tulsi mala? How would I perform this worship? Thanks! Regards, Justin
