I read a post where someone was saying where they get worn out the replace them, and I wear a kanthi too, and after researching and asking around, the universal(hindu)way to discard one is to throw it into a stream or river(in india the holy rivers)...Just fpr anyones info

when reading I noticd you mentioned hing...I don't know if you know the exact process for making hing, but heres the main part that concerns most strict vegetarian is that is they use raw hide(cow or horse)..when soaking it for many days..
