The first explosion went off at about 1830 local time (1300 GMT), during the peak of the evening rush hour in the suburbs on the busy Western Railway. Correspondents spoke of scenes of pandemonium, with people jumping from trains and bodies flung onto tracks. There have been a number of bomb attacks in Mumbai in recent years. The city and the capital Delhi have been put on high alert, and Mumbai's entire rail network has been shut down.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh appealed for calm and described the incidents as a "shocking and cowardly attempt to spread a feeling of hatred". 2.
It is not that because one has once finished Bhagavad-gita he should not hear it again. The word abhiksnam is very important. We should hear again and again. There is no question of stopping: even if one has read these topics many times, he should go on reading again and again because bhagavat-katha, the words spoken by Krsna and spoken by Krsna's devotees about Krsna, are amrtam, nectar. The more one drinks this amrtam, the more he advances in his eternal life. SB 7.14.3-4 ppt.
 3. Transgressing One's Adhikara The following is a letter from Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur Prabhupada where he speaks about the qualification for hearing and preaching about raganuga-bhakti. sri sri guru-gaurango jayatah [All glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga] Sri Chaitanya Matha, Sri Mayapur, 13 December 1928 sneha-vigrahesu ______ [Dear _______], I am very happy to see the substance of all the sastras in your letter. By carefully considering all the topics, you will understand that in the true sense immature intelligence is unable to give results because it is born of laziness. We tiny living entities are followers of vidhi, formal rules and regulations, but we are not against raga-marga, the path of spontaneous attraction. Raga is the highest topic, but it does not look good in our mouth. Hearing big topics from a small mouth, the bhajananuragi-gana, devotees on the spontaneous platform, will laugh at us. The mahajanas always say that if someone has not realized Krishna and is trying to attain a higher position in devotional life, that is due to laziness. The name of Bhagavan and Bhagavan are one. Those who think there is a difference between the name of God and God do so based on their own understanding. The devotees of the associates of Sri Gaurasundar have taught that to become free from anarthas one must serve a bhajana-kusala-jana, a person who has achieved the platform of auspiciousness because of performing bhajan. If we just repeat without realization like a parrot (tota-pakhira nyaya), then they will call us prakrta-sahajiya and thus reduce our self-conceit. Prakrta-sahajiyas drown in the mud of misery. In order to display the glories of raganuga-bhakti to the mundane sahajiyas as well as similar other sects who glorify their positions even though they have fallen into the mire of such misfortune (panke gauriva sidati), one has to personally become expert in the worship of the Supreme Lord before preaching it for others’ welfare. Therefore, try your best to understand the above topics. Bhajana is not an external activity or for making a show for others. Chant hari-nama loudly so that the desires of sense-gratification in the form of laziness will not capture us. asirvadak — your well wisher, Sri Siddhanta Saraswati
 4. SB 4.20.24-25: (24) “My dear Lord, I therefore do not wish to have the benediction of merging into Your existence, a benediction in which there is no existence of the nectarian beverage of Your lotus feet. I want the benediction of at least one million ears, for thus I may be able to hear about the glories of Your lotus feet from the mouths of Your pure devotees" (25) “My dear Lord, You are glorified by the selected verses uttered by great personalities. Such glorification of Your lotus feet is just like saffron particles. When the transcendental vibration from the mouths of great devotees carries the aroma of the saffron dust of Your lotus feet, the forgetful living entity gradually remembers his eternal relationship with You. Devotees thus gradually come to right conclusion about the value of life. My dear Lord, I therefore do not need any other benediction but the opportunity to hear from the mouth of Your pure devotee.”

 7. Do not try to use mundane logic and argument to understand that which is inconceivable to one in material consciousness. You are just speculating on the material mental platform. You can only understand these subjects when you surrender to a bona fide sad-guru, authorized by parampara and hear from him. 9. Karma as "Credits And Debits"www.kansas.com WICHITA, KANSAS, July 1, 2006: HPI note: This article appeared in the Wichita Eagle, a newspaper based in Wichita, Kansas.) Karma, according to many Eastern religions, is the ultimate in objective justice--the innately moral music to which our universe twirls. Karma dictates that, sooner or later, we reap what we sow. Like many other spiritual beliefs, karma is a paradox. It's simple but filled with subtle complexities. It's a concept that predates Christianity by a thousand years, but for some it's cutting-edge trendy, says this article. The Karmadu Web site encourages its members to send "good karma" to fellow surfers. Moonlight Fighter Productions sells a variety of karma-related T-shirts, jackets and mugs. Alicia Keys' song "Karma" includes the lyrics "What goes around comes around/What goes up must come down." And then there's NBC's hit "My Name Is Earl," in which the disheveled title character tries to repair his tattered karma an episode a t a time. Many Hindus and Buddhists say it's nice to have a bit of Eastern spiritualism find a comfy spot in popular culture. And it's great if it gets folks thinking in karmic terms. But the philosophy of karma--real karma--is too complex to fit comfortably on a T-shirt. "Karma is not just some kind of destiny that is written in the stars," said David Gardiner, assistant professor of religion at Colorado College. Gardiner, a Buddhist, thinks "what goes around comes around"--a phrase often used to describe karma--doesn't mean much of anything. A better phrase, he says, is "you get what you give." The word karma means action, and people are constantly racking up karmic credits and debits in their daily lives, according to Gardiner. Building homeless shelters would build up good karma. Ignoring the homeless, or ridiculing them--or worse yet, burning down someone's house, would be a karmic no-no. "What we do now will create new fruits in the future," Gardiner said. "It's not a deterministic theory. It has a free will." In Western religions, people are punished for their sins. In karma, people are punished BY their sins. "It all depends on natural laws," said Kailash Jaitly, a Hindu. "Nobody intervenes. The only one who can intervene is you." Sometimes, Jaitly said, karmic retribution is obvious--like when someone cuts down a tree illegally and the tree falls down on the would-be-lumberjack's car. But often payback is subtle and internal. "Sometimes, it's not so much a cause and effect, but you hurt yourself by the action," said Gardiner. Donating to a charity makes you feel good. Stealing a candy bar brings on guilt. Karma, Jaitly said, isn't necessarily a tit-for-tat morality system. It's cumulative--like cholesterol. Most Hindus and Buddhists believe in reincarnation, and that our present-life circumstances are determined by our past-life actions. "This is the reason why we believe some people are born in privilege and some people are born in poverty," Jaitly said. "Karma is continuing and effecting."
 10. In the Sri Isopanisad (Mantra Six, purport), Srila Prabhupada states that an uttama-adhikari (a person in the highest stage of God-realization), "is not misled by material bodies but is attracted by the spiritual spark within the respective entities." There is no beginning and there is no end in describing Srila Prabhupada's glance. When Prabhupada looked into your eyes, he looked into your heart.
 11. “ We must tolerate, otherwise, what is the difference between us and them!” “ Don’t be an ordinary common man .”
 12. "We have taken upon ourselves the responsibility of welcoming this grave charge. All the audience have accepted ordinary seats, I alone have been provided with a lofty seat. All are being told in effect - "Do have a look at a big animal from the Zoo-gardens. What arrogance! So foolish! So wicked! Have you ever seen such a big brute? Garlands of flowers have been put round his neck! What laudations! What bombastic long-drawn, and hyperbolic adjectives! And how complacently too he is listening to the praise of his own achievements, how intently, and with his own ears! He also evidently feels delighted in mind! Is he not acting in plain violation of the teaching of Mahaprabhu? Can such a big brute, so selfish and insolent, be ever reclaimed from brutishness? I happen to be one of the greatest of fools. No one offers me good advice on account of my arrogance. Inasmuch as nobody condescends to instruct me I placed my case before Mahaprabhu Himself."
 13. I will surely execute with utmost care those activities favorable to Your pure devotional service. I will feel fondness for those things in this world which are conducive to pure devotion, and with my senses I will engage them in Your service. With my hands I will always execute Your service, and I will forever dwell at that place where You abide. Anything I do which gives pleasure to Your devotee I will embrace as conducive to Your devotional service. Bhaktivinoda knows neither religion nor irreligion. He simply prays that all his activities be favorable for pure devotion unto You. (Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura- Saranagati, Song 1)
 14. Prabhupada: That cannot be. Maybe in the beginning due to past habits, but that must be nil very soon. Otherwise, he is not fol-lowing. Just like a fan switched off may move for a little while, but it will not go on moving. If the switch is off, it must stop. And if it is still moving then it means that the switch is not off yet.
 15. Every living being in the spiritual world loves Krishna. This is the nature of the spiritual world. However, that love is not forced. For example, if I were to hold a gun to your head and say, “Love me,” you would naturally say, “Oh yes, I love you.” But that would have no meaning. You cannot force anyone to love another person, for love comes from within naturally when the proper conditions arise. Therefore, Krishna does not force the living entities to love Him, for that would not be real love and it would not be satisfying to the Supreme Lord, who knows everything that is going on in the hearts of the living entities. Krishna is satisfied only by pure, natural, and spontaneous love, without any traces of self-motivated desire. Therefore Krishna endows each and every living entity with free will. With this free will, one can love Krishna or one can not love Krishna. The choice is entirely up to the living entity. Those living beings who love Krishna are situated in the spiritual world, whereas those living beings who don’t love Krishna are situated in the material world.
 16. 100% SURRENDER!!! Can you do it? I betcha you can't without His causeless mercy and especially the mercy of His pure devotee!
 17. The word jiva-himsa (envy of other living entities) actually means stopping the preaching of Krsna consciousness. Preaching work is described as paropakara, welfare activity for others. Those who are ignorant of the benefits of devotional service must be educated by preaching. If one stops preaching and simply sits down in a solitary place, he is engaging in material activity. If one desires to make a compromise with the Mayavadis, he is also engaged in material activity. A devotee should never make compromises with nondevotees. >>> Ref. VedaBase => Madhya 12.135
 18.
Over Coming Challenges Created By Western So-Called Civilisation

Prabhupada: Sraddha-sabde visvasa sudrdha niscaya. This is basic platform, that "What Krsna says, that is truth." Krsna bhakti kaile sarva-karma krta haya: "If I follow Krsna, then my business is complete." This is intelligence. Now... We have come to the open field. How it is nice. And so long we were passing through that congested areas--hellish, simply hellish. And now here is open space. How it is nice. Hari-sauri: To enter into a city is so imposing on your consciousness. Prabhupada: Up to that point, simply rubbish, all papers thrown here and there. People are living in... Now see here, how it is open and pleasing. Organize this farm project. Farm. (background talking) Hari-sauri: He's just saying that in the West one requires a great deal of capital. To start a farm, to get the land, you need a lot of money because land is very expensive. And also we have to use modern farming techniques because we have so few men to run the farms. Prabhupada: No, you show example. People will do automatically. When the people find it is very nice, they will take. Hari-sauri: Should we try to make an effort to have our householders go and live on the farms, a special effort? If it's ready to do that? Prabhupada: Why householders? Everyone. Hare Krsna. (japa) Ramesvara: In America there is a very big emphasis on getting people to join us by moving into our temples. The temple presidents are very eager to get as many people to move in as possible, but in the long run most people cannot come up to the standard. Prabhupada: Therefore I am [advocating]... Farms. Ramesvara: So they have to be encouraged to have a little bit of Krsna consciousness in their own home, make their home a temple. Prabhupada: No, let them go to the farm, New Vrindaban. Ramesvara: Many people... Most people in the world, they are grhamedhis, and they cannot give it up so easily. Prabhupada: "No, you remain... Come here with your wife, children. You remain grhamedhi." Jagadisa: New Vrindaban is very austere. If we build little bungalows with modern convenience... Prabhupada: Oh, yes. Jagadisa: There has to be some modern convenience. Prabhupada: Oh, yes. Then we shall do that. Ramesvara: But for many people who live in the cities, they have their jobs already. They don't want to give it up. Prabhupada: (train slows down) What is the nonsense? No, there is a station? No station. Jagadisa: Why does this train keep stopping? (train stops) Prabhupada: Hare Krsna. Hare Krsna. Jaya. Jagadisa: Why does the train keep stopping? Prabhupada: Who is this gentleman? Hari-sauri: Pradyumna? Prabhupada: Oh, Pradyumna. Ramesvara: Say, in America, most people live in the cities, and they already have their job, and they are set in their ways. Prabhupada: But you said that there is unemployment also. Ramesvara: To a certain extent. But there are still 250,000,000 people. So most of them... Prabhupada: So those who are unemployed, let them come to us. We shall give them employment. Ramesvara: Yes. But for the mass population... Prabhupada: Well, gradually you will increase and... Ramesvara: We have to give them something that they can do in their home. Prabhupada: Oh, yes. Ramesvara: Because it is impractical to think that they will give up everything and move into the temple. Prabhupada: No, those who are unemployed, let them come. We shall give them employment. Jagadisa: On the farm. Prabhupada: Yes. Ramesvara: For those who are unemployed, that's attractive. Jagadisa: But for those who are already employed... Ramesvara: But most people have jobs. Prabhupada: Eh? Ramesvara: Many people already have their jobs and their families. Prabhupada: All right, let them not come, but those who are unemployed, let them come. Ramesvara: But what...? For those people who already have their jobs, instead of... Prabhupada: That job... They will be very soon jobless. Don't worry. (laughs) They will come. They will be obliged to come. Now they have got job, but as the days are advancing in Kali-yuga, they'll be jobless.
 19. So many nonsense disciples who have brought so much dishonor upon the good name of the saintly spiritual master. And yet, the guru and his reputation remains unaffected. Is that correct?
