Wendy ji,

///I think the main problem with this one is the hard drive is bulging at the

seams (not enough disk space to function properly)...///

When you get the new system, partition it and don't put too much stuff on the

main drive (C: on most systems). Instead, put data on drives like D: because the

Windows Swap file (virtual memory) resides on C: and if this drive becomes slow,

the system crawls.

Also, get a good antivirus--I have been using the free Avast! antivirus (free

for home use) for a few years and it is excellent.

Dear Balaji and All,

Have the new computer up and running...almost! Will take a bit

of getting used to as the screen is huge (compared to my little laptop). I'm

still busy installing software etc but getting there slowly but surely. Andrew

(my son)has done a marvellous job, God Bless Him!

He has indeed partitioned it for me i.e. ( C:) 97.6GB, (D:)

195GB, (E:) 195GB, (F:) 443 GB

I've had ESET for some time now and have not had any

problems so far...they're considered to be one of the best.

As I said, this new computer will take some getting used to

so please don't expect too much from me for the next day or two, please :-)

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Dear Balaji, Gopi, Nilesh and All,

Yes, indeed, it's a huge hard drive (if that's what you call it?) and I'm sure

I'll never use it all. Andrew (my son) put all the money into the computer and

monitor but had very little left for the keyboard and mouse...had to get the

very cheapest and boy! it is cheap and nasty...looks okay, but a nightmare to

use...very unstable! I've ordered another one which should be here sometime this

week.

I've changed my email from Windows Live to Microsoft Outlook and have lost all

my mail (and contacts) in the process...hence I'm responding to your post from

the web.

PS: Still waiting for PL7 to be activated so cannot look at any charts at the

moment.

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Dear Wendyji,

Looking forward to your indepth and wise analysis once the computer is up and

running.

Now that we know the reason we are not worried.

Just thinking whether the teething problem are due to the neecha mars - the

planet of logic and mercury the planet of communication in parivartan with

Saturn the planet of delay.

Warm Regards

Dear Nilesh,

///Just thinking whether the teething problem are due to the neecha mars - the

Saturn the planet of delay.///

I'm sure the culprit is P/D lord Ketu presently transiting 6th house of

obstacles/struggles in nakshatra of 3rd lord Jupiter...3rd communications,

computers etc.. Transit Jupiter, in retrograde motion, is also combust.

I must also tell you (later) of another manifestation of this Ketu P/D that

happened a week or so ago...very strange it was!

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Guru can't be combust and vakra at once, right? :-)

In your list of karakas, you have listed 3rd/Budha as responsible for Computer

Skills.

Budha is in your lagna in star of 7th lord Chandra, who in turn currently

occupies your third house...

Dear Balaji,

Without doubt Jupiter can be combust whilst in retrograde

motion. Please see the note in BPHS Ch7. 28-29:

http://jyotishvidya.com/ch7.htm

Yes certainly, Mercury is a significator for computer skills as

part of his portfolio is writing. However 3rd lord also needs to be considered...and

not forgetting, of course, karaka for 3rd (Mars).

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy
