During which month is Seemantham generally carried out?3. Can it be done if Valla kapu has already been done? 4. I read that during Seemantham, a male child is prayed for. Pumsavanam and Seemantham are tow karmas, which are coming under compulsory karmas, so it not Kaamya karma.2. Pumsavanam should be done on the 4th month and seemantham should be done on 6th month but not later than 8th month (but all are doing it in the 8th month). 3. Valai kappu is a different function which is not vaideekam, it can be done at any day or time prior to seemantham.4. Not praying, medicining for male child while pumsavanam (not in seemantham) which is to be done on the 4th month when one can not confirm the gender of the child. The purpose of pumsavanam is not ends with requesting for a male child and it prays for several type of prosperity for the child (male or female) and its mother.The purpose of seemantham is to make " Brahmanathvam " to the baby, which is called " Unnayanam " .
