Srimad Azhagiyasingar Thirunakshathram celebration on Dec 17th

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

 

Last Dec 17th, we had celebrated Srimad Azhagiyasingar's Thirunakshathram

(and the Thirunakshathrams of Thirumangai AzhwAr and ThiruppANAzhwAr) at the

residence of Sri KaNNan and Smt Mithra KaNNan. Though belated, adiyEn wants

to share the event with Bhagawathas across the globe.

 

1. The event started off at 11.30 a.m, with Bhagavath ArAdhanam for

saaLagraama PerumAL and Sri Lakshmi Nrusimhan vigraha mUrthy (both yELLa

paNNufied -brought- by Sriman Hari) followed by AchArya pAdhukA ArAdhanam.

The ArAdhanam, performed by Sri Hari in great detail ended at 1.30 p.m with

saaRRumuRai, followed by thadhIyArAdhanai.

 

We recited ThiruppaLLiyezhucchi, ThirupPAvai (being the month of Maargazhi),

Adaikkalappatthu, SudharsanAshtakam and KaamasikAshtakam.

 

2. Sri Hari spoke as usual in his inimitable electrifying style, on

ThiruppAvai- Vedham anaitthukkum Vitthu (seed of all Vedas). It was

excellent is a gross understatement.

 

3. Smt Vijyalakshmi Hari (Sri Hari's own compostion on Srimad Azhagiya

singar in sanskrit), Smt Geetha Sridharan (Sri Sridhar and Sri Anand's

composition in Tamil on Srimad Azhagiyasingar), Smt Bharati Murali, her

mother, Smt Vidya Sudharsan, Smt Mithra KaNNan, Smt Rama Madhusudhanan, Chi

keshavan, Sri Sudharsan Parthasarathy sang divine songs on Sriya: Pathi

Sriman Narayanan. adiyEn also sang two PAsurams from Thirumangai AzhwAr's

Periya Thirumozhi, being Thirumangai mannan's TN (Kaarthigai Kritthigai Dec

10th).

 

4. Sow. Kanchana Sridhar danced very gracefully for three ThiruppAvai

pAsurams (ThoomaNI, Orutthi and MalE) and Chi Ram (son of sri KaNNan) played

mridha~ngam)

 

5. Children recited Swamy dseikan sthOthrams as part of OronRu thaanE

amaiyAdhO thittam, organised by sri Vijaykumar.

 

6. adiyEn had to speak (as Smt Praveena, who was supposed to speak could not

due to unforeseen circumstances) on "num pANan and num Kaliyan" being Dec 10

and Dec 11 Thirunakshathrams of ThirumangaiAzhwAr and ThiruppANAzhwAr

respectively. I am sure Smt Praveena would have done justice to the topic.

 

The event ended with a divine grand recitataion of Sri VishNu sahasranamam

and mangaLArathi.
