Dear Shri Sai Prasad,

I am very sorry to say that all the so called tests mentioned earlier and believed to differentiate in true and fake rudraksha are not correct. Thorough examination of the bead for its morphological characters is the only scientific test to differentiate authentic rudraksha from fake rudraksha. It requires thorough experience in Rudraksha bead morphology.

Following are the tests believed, and which are not correct to differntiate authentic and fake rudraksha beads.

1) True rudraksha rotates if hold between two copper coins. It is a simple hand trick.

2) True rudraksha sinks in water, fake rudraksha floats. It is not correct. Genuine rudraksha may also float and fake rudraksha filled with iron nails, iron beads, m-seal sink easily in water.

It is important to note that for every so called test, there is an answer with the people making artisan beads. Making beautiful fake rudraksha is a mulimillion dollar business.
