toenail fungus remedy

Toenail fungus is not exactly life threatening,

but it certainly is a persistent nuisance.

I was doing a home Reflexology visit for a diabetic

friend who is on kidney dialysis to boot.

As most of you will know, diabetics have a hard time

recovering from any foot problems.

His wife called my attention to his big toenail: beautiful,

clean, fungus-free, with healthy new growth.

They had been using a herbal salve that is applied to the

toe and then covered with a Band-Aid.

That is something many of us can use!

Fungal infections of the nails(foot or hands)require Rx with griseofulvin tab

250 mg once a day for not less than 6 months as to allow the infected nail to be

shed completely to be replaced by new noninfected newly grown nail

As a prior nail technician and now a biofeedback

practitioner using over 90 alternative/holistic

modalities in my practice, I disagree with this

statment.

Big Pharma and Allopathic practioners would have you

believe that what you are saying is true, but from

personal and professional experience, it just isn't

the case.

Pharmaceuticals take over 1 year to treat a fungus(

training in nail school), that can be treated quickly

and simply with alternative and holistic approaches in

less than the time you are saying. Changes in diet to

stop the feeding of fungus, cleansing and detoxing,

treatment with holistic antifungals all are shown to

be effective in the treatment and healing of nail

fungus.

Hello Medusa,

I have been hesitant to get a prescription for my nail fungus because

I have had quite a few people tell me that it clears with a

prescription, only to come back. I also can't stand the smell of

most topical remedies.

I had my nail tech recommend Oregano Oil (internally in pills and

externally on the nail and under it), and I am trying it. However, I

could not find a lot of information on it about dose or adverse

reactions, so I am watching closely.

Maybe someone can tell me know if this is safe remedy or not. I am

taking it in pill and using it topically, and so far it seems to be

working. It's a bit expensive in the super strength varity that was

recommended but easy to find at the health food store.

The only adverse reactions I have found so far after a week of use is

that I am really craving spaghetti and feeling rather earthy from the

strong spice smell.

Sending you love and light...

Sharon,

You can change to Oregano Tincture for the same

results without the strong taste and side effects. Oil

of Oregano is very strong in smell and taste. Tincture

is more mild and palatable. Tincture I have found is

also less expensive.

Also you can apply tea tree oil topically to the

affected nail. Lavender and peppermint have also been

known to benefit.

I had my clients using Tea Tree Oil with excellent

results. A foot bath with white vinager helps also.

But the catch is to also get the fungus which is also

internal. Muscle test for what dosage your body needs.

Parasties feed on fungus. Fungus feeds on sugars and

starches. So change in diet eliminating those foods

that feed fungus. Parasite cleanse to free the body of

toxins will also help.

Using the Oregano tincture internally and topically,

keeping your feet dry and wearing open toed shoes or

shoes that allow your feet to breath (no

synthetic/man-made materials) cotton socks (no wool or

synthetics) will also help. Avoiding wet areas as much

as possible, including using shower shoes and cleaning

shower/tub with hospital grade disinfectants helps.
