So how does one generate commitment? It is done, in my opinion, by

welcoming all who have any interest at all in realization, even if that

interest is 'against' realization; by fostering an individual's

slightest intuition of the nondual. It is done through acceptance of

anyone and everyone who has even an inkling of nondual intuition. It is

done by demonstrating that commitment is necessary, absolutely required. It

is done by creating an atmosphere in which it is realized that there is

nothing else in this life to do other than 'become' realized.

 

That is something to think about.

Harsha: Thanks Jerryji Maharaj for stating it eloquently. All the great

sages and saints whether leading the life of an ascetic or that of a

householder (or perhaps something in between : - ) remind us to constantly

keep the goal of life in mind and at Heart until We See We Are the Goal and

The Heart.

 

Sri Dirk Maharaj points beautifully at this and states, "The quality of life

that you talk about means for me relaxing enough to take in the mystery. IMO

going on a spiritual quest is always worthwhile. There are many great

teachers and great teachings. Undertaking this journey is a way of opening

to the universe. To show up and be willing in an outer relationship is an

acknowledgement of our inner relationship - our journey to a Self that was

never separate. When you are with a great teacher, the words that are spoken

are almost irrelevant."

 

Harsha: We are never away from the Great Teacher and it is wonderful to see

the reflections of the Great Teacher "outside" in other teachers. And we

have wonderful Souls here who are one with us in this space. Which reminds

me that Sri Kurt Keutzer Maharaj has accepted our invitation to join the

. For that we are truly grateful.

Cool ! i think this is a key to the heart of it all. May i add a

point...?

 

there is no good way or bad way. Just joy of now. my teacher said

something like "Dont make anything, then you have nothing to lose!".

 

Then when you look for the light rays shining from Guru's face, they are

suddenly your own heartlights.

 

When your sister cries, her tears are in your eyes. Seperation is the

ultimate of these silly mindgames we play.

 

Despite a battle w/this stupid virus, i have had the privilege of being in

satsang (right word for teachings? another word?) last sunday until

thursday. Every evening. We were up late too. I got very tired! I had to

go back on Sunday to see Lama to finish getting a transmission for a

teaching i had to leave early from. He was funny about that one. My friend

had gotten up to leave (like me, she doesnt do late hours so well), so

i took that time too to excuse myself. He looked at me mid-sentence and

just said 'Where are you going'? Explained i was tired, feeling sick

again, sorta begged that if i needed this, could we finish it later?? He

was kind, let me go, so i came back on sunday to recieve the whole thing

again. Now i dont speak more than a sentence or two of Tibetan, but these

things happen on more than one level. It was powerful!

 

i think epstein-barr is burning up bad karma. its making me feel more

clear. tired, but clear. (very tired)

Gloria:

How does one generate commitment, Jerry brought up. This is an

important question. What I have seen is that when an individual is

sincere and committed to God and is doing what comes to him/her in the

discipline, he/she will automatically find that their commitment in

their spiritual life will open up and extend to others in their circle

all around, work, play, friends, etc.

Participation in life means giving and receiving, it is like a time

comes when the thirst for spirit is such that the world will not contain

it. I have seen it working with the group here in Reno...which by the

way has been together for a very long time almost 30 years. But a time

came when each of the individuals begin to work their process with such

focus that their circles at work or home/family became integrated into

their experience and transformation spread out from their commitment.

This experience is certainly a part of spirit teaching the individual

in the flow of the moment and is always something that the individual

knows he/she had nothing to do with. Meditation and silence is really

the foundation, but being in that clarity through out the day which

allows spirit to work in many sitatuions is really when the awareness is

changed. This means becoming that vehicle for God to use, which often

involves transforming ones experience by living in that detached state,

and then being the witness of the process as it works into other lives.

This experience is the Holy Spirit spreading the wings of the Dove, and

really teaching in the non-dual state what can be as the ego/shadow is

absorbed into Divine Will. Powerful experiences that only can manifest

through total surrender To God.

We live at such a dynamic time of change, to me the world is so

pregnated with potential now that God is extending him/herself through

totally unique methods that may never have existed before. Surrender to

Divine Will sets the ripples flowing in every direction, who would have

thought the internet would have connected all of us?
